I'm convinced he's just an odd man, with a quirky humour, a bit tight, a bit stubborn (a lot), and loves to stir but tongue in cheek.
For balance, he does have legitimate strong sports knowledge and very strong on sports history.

Hawks are getting Tom Mitchell and O'Meara and here we are losing Dane Swan from 2016.

If we got those two, wouldn't you be saying, "but Mitchell is their fourth mid choice and Omeara is an injury crock."

On top of which, we've taken Daniel Wells this year as a free agent. We also drafted JDG at pick 5. If you believe the rumour, we're sniffing around Rockliff.

But aside from that, I agree the Romans have done nothing for us.

As expected the Mayne and Wells deals went through relatively easily, well compared to how many deals the other clubs have got done anyway.

I'd expect Frost, Witts and Cloke to be trade by the close of business on Friday now. Both the Suns, Dogs and Lions have had plenty of time to chat to other clubs about JOM and Rockliff, there will come a time when the Pies tell them to sit down or we will talk to other clubs about these players.

As for the talk about a few compensation picks costing us Brown and Daicos, I've honestly never heard anything as stupid. Daicos will cost us a 4th round pick at most (after the deduction). Getting put back 5-6 spots due to compo picks at that stage of the draft is almost irrelevant.

Brown as we know will cost more, but even then, as long as no one bids in the first round we will get enough of a reduction to most likely take him with a third round pick.

James Stewart was spotted at the Holden Centre today too, might have just been visiting all clubs interested in him, but we are still in the race for both he and WHE, but wouldn't expect movement on either front till next week.

As for Rockliff, I doubt it, the only way I can possibly see us getting him is if it comes down to the final day of the trade period and the Lions can't off load him. Then we might get him cheap. But I doubt it.

Do you think 27 or whatever it is we have now would be enough to get WHE & Stewart? Could fix our fwd line immediately!

Swan was to be forced out and play 100% up forward due to us having an already stacked midfield.....now we've added Wells. We do not need more midfielders!

I don't think 27 would get us both of them. We might have to wait and see what we get for Witts and Frost before fully dealing with GWS. Both players have indicated a preference to come to us but if we can't match what GWS could get from other clubs we won't get them.

Don't think Stewart improves our forward line. Don't think he'd be any improvement on Cox as a 2nd tall/ruck or as a back up number 1 forward.

Treloar had a great year but he needs help if we going to rise up from 12th.

l think your are right in a way, we do need another a grade mid. but not sure rocky is the man though

Doesn't have to be Rockliff but I'm talking someone as good as that a captain and ready made. A top 15 mid of the comp is what see us go up the ladder. Luke Ball was a captain great pick up.
Ball, Swan, Didak, Beams, Thomas, Pendlebury in 2011.

Get a midfield like that and I'll believe again.

read the Brisbane statement today re the meeting between Fagan an rockliff. I'll be staggered if he isn't traded.

If he was staying the statement would've said

'Tom was really excited about the direction of the club that Chris outlined, he will be a Brisbane Lion next year.'

Instead it basically said

'Chris told Tom he is poison and doesn't want him at the club next year'

Considering GWS need to get rid of WHE because of his high salary we should be getting him for cheap. I'd think 27 for both is fair.
