Does he still do that? I don't think he does anymore. And a lot of that is structural. Bucks always plays with an extra mid, allowing the opposition to play one extra defender

If Rockliff goes to Carlton over us I'll be gutted.
But Collingwood appears out of the race for athletic key forward James Stewart, the son of former Magpie Craig Stewart.
If we were out of the race we wouldn't have met with him today..
we can only hope.If Rockliff goes to Carlton over us I'll be gutted.
At 196cm & 95 kegs he is no flanker, quite simply a key position player. Physically he is more developed than Darcy and will only fill out.
Not overly upset about that if its correct.
To fat and to slow to be BenBen Sinclair?
He's always played like a flanker. It's probably half the reason we never drafted him.because someone is big doesn't mean they are a kpf. he plays like a flanker.
KB? The oldest and famous reptile click bate pro in the history of the word famousNot sure if already mentioned but I caught a little of KB's show today and seems the Marchbank deal is stalling with Carlton who are unwilling to part with pick 5 and GWS standing firm. KB at pains to point out that Collingwood had thrown a massive offer to Marchbank. I like how when KB mentions these sorts of things in relation to Collingwood his tone suggests we are some kind of reckless, irresponsible club throwing offers around without any thought.
Anyway. Got me thinking - does this make us more or less able to get Stewart? Are we still any chance to lure Marchbank or is he a lock to Carlton. Just idle speculation but I wouldn't mind trying to develop Stewart. I thought he showed a bit last year and I'm not comfortable with our forward stocks right now.
Edit - just spotted your post above RupetFan. Cheers, very much enjoying your insights this trade period.
If we were out of the race we wouldn't have met with him today..
Carlton loses Gibbs. Look at their midfield and look at ours. No guessing who is more desperate to get a quality mid in. And if they want to pay overs for a player, two words for them: Daisy Thomas. If Rockliff goes to Carlton over us I'll be gutted.
I'd argue that modern day flankers play like midfielders, so he doesn't really play like a flanker either. To me, he doesn't really play like an AFL player. Having said that, he may develop into a handy 2nd ruck, if footy goes in the right direction for him. He's always played like a flanker. It's probably half the reason we never drafted him.
That's a bingo.
Lol MaynardSinclair, maynard, and ramma disagree.
Terrific summation. As expected the Mayne and Wells deals went through relatively easily, well compared to how many deals the other clubs have got done anyway.
I'd expect Frost, Witts and Cloke to be trade by the close of business on Friday now. Both the Suns, Dogs and Lions have had plenty of time to chat to other clubs about JOM and Rockliff, there will come a time when the Pies tell them to sit down or we will talk to other clubs about these players.
As for the talk about a few compensation picks costing us Brown and Daicos, I've honestly never heard anything as stupid. Daicos will cost us a 4th round pick at most (after the deduction). Getting put back 5-6 spots due to compo picks at that stage of the draft is almost irrelevant.
Brown as we know will cost more, but even then, as long as no one bids in the first round we will get enough of a reduction to most likely take him with a third round pick.
James Stewart was spotted at the Holden Centre today too, might have just been visiting all clubs interested in him, but we are still in the race for both he and WHE, but wouldn't expect movement on either front till next week.
As for Rockliff, I doubt it, the only way I can possibly see us getting him is if it comes down to the final day of the trade period and the Lions can't off load him. Then we might get him cheap. But I doubt it.
That's why the Suns don't want to lose him and he's barely what 22 23?Honestly, Omera WAS a gun. But he isn't worth the risk. He could never play a game again.
Yeah and look how well that went. No pace in our backline once Sinclair gets another concussion.Tooveys & Marley hardly played this year??????
That's why the Suns don't want to lose him and he's barely what 22 23?
If that is the Williams situation, I'd simply say to him, assuming he remains a magpie.Witts will go to the Suns of course. Should have included him. Marley Williams is a strange one. His manager tried to link him to the giants but they flat out said no. We haven't even offered Marley a contract. No one wants him basically which is kind of sad, for him.

Shaw was a completely different situation, the comparison is ridiculous. How's he supposed to sound? He isn't exactky going to get on there and sulk. Heater never complained either, but it hurt him deeply.
Hawks are getting Tom Mitchell and O'Meara and here we are losing Dane Swan from 2016.We could get O'meara for that if we were willing to chase him and GC were happy to accept. I wouldn't think that o'meara would have any problem playing for the Pies
They're also losing Sam Mitchell.Hawks are getting Tom Mitchell and O'Meara and here we are losing Dane Swan from 2016.
