Bugger all Vic Park games last year too. Perhaps a trade off with council for AFLW and VFLW?

ETU Stadium has lights now, it's Ports first game of the year and a double header.Weird having a Night VFL game in Rd 2
It's not only at the club's request, it's the club that scheduled these matches at AIA.This is at the clubs request.
The VFLW side has the opposite fixture, one at AIA and rest at Vic Park.
Once the VFLW season is done, in round 14, the men's make get fixtures there but I don't it.
If it’s a club request it seems to be a want to make Vic Park our women’s match day home. That’s fine, but it was only a few years ago the club was pumping up a return more VFL Vic Park games due to the wishes of fans. This is at the clubs request.

AIA is good for the club, but terrible for fans to watch games.AIA has better facilities, and better rehab for the players. That's what is more important for the club at VFL level.
I love Vic Park, there is an incredible nostalgic feel to the place and I love sitting in the identical seat as I used to as 5yo with Dad.....I also get why the club wants AIA.
You just have to look at the list rules for VFL to understand the competition is about the clubs and development and nothing to do with fans.AIA is good for the club, but terrible for fans to watch games.

Since they started streaming every match in 2021, I haven't gone to a single game at AIA Centre. Terrible ground to watch footy, you have no hope of knowing how individuals are performing on the other side of the oval.
Its a shame too, as the vibe at Collingwood VFL matches was starting to get really fun in that Dale Tapping era 2015, 2016ish.
YepI still go but I do agree that you can really only see 1 side Properly
Is the Live Coverage the same as last year?
Yep
Broadcast and streaming: All matches in the 2023 Smithy’s VFL and rebel VFLW seasons will be live streamed free via the AFL website (AFL.com.au) and AFL Live Official App. Smithy’s VFL broadcast partner, the Seven Network, will continue to show one weekly game live and free on the Seven Network in Victoria and on 7Plus nationally.
