Borderline. On promise will probably get games put into him but I have Josh Thomas in front personally.

Lol just read about your bet. You may as well pony up to your mate now. He'll be on our list in 2018. In fact the way he's projecting he'll be on our list in 2023 as well. A lot of upside, I just don't think he's quite best 22 at the moment
Coming from a long way back JT is going to have to earn his way back in

My likely START OF SEASON best 22 based on recent games on the board and immediate need, I think the following will get the gig. If they have recently come off an extended period on the sidelines they'll need to compete and prove their worth I believe. Against the dogs I can't see too many surprises including Keefe, Elliott, Scharenberg or Ramsay for a few weeks unless they run riot pre-season. Don't think Bucks will chance it.

B - Maynard Dunn Smith
Hb - Reid Howe Adams
C - Pendlebury Greenwood Crisp
R- Grundy Wells Treloar
Hf - Fasolo Moore Sidebottom
F - Mayne White Varcoe
Bench - Aish Broomhead Goldsack JDG

Possible first round next in line, out of -
B Schade Keefe Ramsay
Hb Sinclair Scharenberg
C Phillips Oxley
R Wills Cox
F Crocker Blair
Hf WHE Elliott

Team looks pretty effective if they can gel!

Senior team might be the worst back 3 in the whole competition.

I like it, but Sidebottom would play on the wing, and Greenwood changing off half-forward (they all kinda play midfield now anyway of course). Elliot is definitely in the best 22 when/if fit. I think Ramsay is a better defended than Smith -- more punishing on the counter.

B: Goldsack Dunn Smith
HB: Adams Keefe Howe
C: Wells Pendlebury Varco
HF: Sidebottom White Mayne
F: Reid Moore Kirby
R: Grundy, Treloar, DeGoey
I: Elliot, Fasolo, Crisp, Aish

I've gone for flexibility in this selection. Goldsack included so Reid can go forward if needed. Playing one of our mids as a HB instead of a dedicated back like Ramsay/Sinclair is a no-brainer if you ask me. Gives us much greater flexibility. Adams showed he's good at the role.
Kirby included because he's Kirby. Realistically you might put Elliot there and Greenwood or Wills on the bench instead of him.

Yeah I agree but I see Greenwood and Sidebottom swinging through half forward, at least that's my hope. I think those guys coming out of injury or suspension like Ramsay, Keefe and Elliott will push into the team it'll probably just take a few warm ups in the magoos.

I like the thought processes here. There's a couple of personnel we could argue about ut I wouldn't be worried if that team lined up Round 1 sans Kirby and adding Greenwood/WHE/or half a dozen others

Yeah Kirby was the only "joke" in that... a joke I really hope turns totally serious. I have a silly gut feeling he's going to be a real good surprise for us! I don't rate Goldsack much tbh but at round 1 next year he will be our best option if the objective is winning games and flexibility to play Reid forward. But then hopefully by the end of the year Scharenberg or Ramsay or someone has taken his place. Flexibility is something we can have an edge in I think... it is a huge advantage if you can pull it off. Makes injury coverage much easier and makes it hard for the opposition to plan, plus gives you an out in games where things aren't going well. If Moore gets injured then I think we have to look at the strong possibility of Reid going forward again. Our KPP stocks are a bit thin at both ends unfortunately.

If you think Kirby should start over Elliott then you have serious problems

It is WHE, Elliott is in the team ;)
I would keep Reid back and throw up Howe fwd. Rather a med size that plays tall then a tall that plays like a med. We keep another tall defender at the back line and Dunn kick ins are better then Howe.

That's a really strong reserves team. Add the VFL boys in there and they should definitely be going for the flag.
