He's a Ruckman/Forward rather than a Forward/Ruckman like Tippett

Played primarily as a forward when he was a junior but since has spent more time in the ruck.

"Growing up I played forward but haven't had a lot of time to play forward here, being more preferred in the ruck and a few other positions, but to go forward is something I really enjoy," he said.

So we get Piers Flanagan, a player that has taken 42 games to break into the Suns line-up (which has 18 players unavailable at the moment) plus Daniel Goringe who was taken at pick 10 in the 2010 draft but is obviously worth much more following his sparkling form in the games one game he has played this year.

Now we would like to swap Nick Joyce for Harley Bennell.

Not even I believe we will be screwed over that badly.

Couldn't help but notice page 07 of 'The Pride' which arrived this week. Article on re-signings with Tippett's name of course absent from a prominent list of 'Committed Crows'...right next to a Crowmania ad on the same page with a very big photo of Tippett... someone at the Club at least has a sense of humour!

I wasn't truly that impressed with Gorringe and I always like Brodie Dawes more. Think he's a better mark and a kick and a touch more mobile than Daniel. I'll probably regret these words but D Gorringe really didn't excite me when he was in Adel and both he and Day are not on my wishlist.

Like Sunny says, take a look at our board we would rather keep Gorringe. Our board isnt a elaborate ruse to suck in the AFC to taking less than Tippetts worth.

Correct, he is a good forward but probably a better ruck. That may change as he matures, and that's why I would rather keep him.

We're not but that doesn't stop people throwing up likely scenarios and then stating them as fact. The aspect in all this that kinda amuses me is that Tippetts true value isn't worked out yet, if indeed he does leave the club. For instance if he averages double figures in marks and a 3 goal average during the finals series, then his value will skyrocket because you will have both QLD teams bidding for him and players and picks that weren't on the table soon will be; nothing is set in stone.

That is of course if he wants to leave and outside of rumour, innuendo and conspiracy theories, that hasn't been confirmed.

I'd like to think the Crows would want Gorringe ( I rate him) but Gorringes value isn't quite there yet and that's what a trade would be based on. If Gorringe could have gotten 15 games in this season it may have been enough to make it a close trade

I hear you but I assume that the Crows scouts would of had an eye on him as a junior and they would know his upside. He is an exciting player and I would rather hold onto him.

Trade worth Is usually worked out years down the track, both clubs or neither could come out of this looking like geniuses or morons.

Channel 7 said tonight that Tippet's team-mates think that he's going, but not to Brisbane as some believe.

Apparently he is genuinely home-sick and wants to go to the Gold Coast for that reason.

My attitude to that if I was Trigg and co would be

"Don't fret, pet, you'll get your clearance without any fuss, but it'll be to the Qld based side that offers us the most in recompense for you abandoning your team-mates. You'll be a drivable distance from home no matter which one you end up playing for."

Could be tough for Vossy if he gave pick 8 to Adelaide to help GC secure Tippett. On the plus side it would make the Fev fiasco look minor in comparison

GC have pick 2 and 25 as it stands. That pick 25 could be pushed further down the order if clubs decide to activate GWS compo picks for out of contract signings in this off season.

I'm pretty sure you cant activate the compo picks that late? I think the clubs do it before the season starts? I believe Melb activated theres, which equates to pick 3 and pick 4 at this stage. I think Geelong did as well? Can't remember there was one other club I think that activated their compensation pick also.

I also think we have 2 first round compo picks tucked in the drawer that we were able to trade back last year and the year before I think? I think one is a mid 1st round, and the other is a late 1st round.

I could be completely wrong on all accounts.
