Damo :)

IF ...
there is a lot of doom and gloom about the Roos ...

THEN ...
it's justifiable, given the actions of the chairman and his board in recent years. An ugly 2021 looms. Hope the new coach gets the proper support the past two haven't

Stupidly looked at it after you posted this.

What annoyed me more was seeing Ben Brown looking bulked up. Did Melbourne force him to eat Sirloins as part of his conditions?

I didn’t have a chance to see the game as I was working.

Thoughts?
There were also two events that blatantly favoured Richmond where a Carlton player fumbled the ball and chased it through for a rushed behind... free kick Richmond. Nankervis casually steps over the line with the ball when he was clearly protected by at least two team mates. Nothing said by umps.

and there were plenty of throws not paid. But every now and again one of the umps decided to inject himself into the game with yet another poor decision.

I’m no fan of Petrevski-Seaton but mn, that bastard cops some very poor calls from umps.So much so that you can set your watch by it. I wonder if he abuses them or if it’s racial?

Heir to Lindsay Thomas?

LOL people just can't help finding somethign to complain about. The man on the mark rule worked well last night, but there was one clear case of umpire error. That doesn't mean there's a problem with the rule, just as there isn't a problem with the too high rule, it's just that umpires are human and sometimes they'll make mistakes.

Although I wish they'd stop micing up the umps for the whole game and only show their audio when something interesting happens.

What a crock! Accusing the umpires of being racial. You are a clown!

Good to see some footy last night!

Don't mind the new rules. The disinterested arm wave from the neutered man on mark is funny to watch.

The injury sub rule is good, but rushed in and will need tweaking or weeks of boring discussion about rorting the rule to follow.

Doctors mostly don't know how long an injuriy puts a player out for until the next week, sometimes right up to the following Thursday before selection. So in asking them to confirm it's a 12 day injury during game time, is asking them for information they simply don't have.

Make it mandatory to miss a week, or even just injury sub can't go back on for rest of game. Both would be easy and clear.

Walsh going to have a big year if he keeps that up.

Granted Shaw needed more support, there's no argument there. But Brad Scott had time and budget and control over the football department to do as he pleased.
