Suspect he might be set there. Then again if they have a flat season or two the natives will get restless.

He's realistic about where WC are and are going. Most of their senior players are only 1 - 2 seasons away from retirement and he is starting to set up for a couple of more development years. He has expressed a long term interest and has tabled a long term plan so he's not in a hurry to leave and he is certainly highly regarded here in WA.

He’s coaching at the best resourced footy club in the land. I’m sure he’s in no hurry to give that advantage away.

Let’s be honest -

it also highlights how ******* good a skipper Simmo would have been

Friends, Family, Flags!
This might sound dramatic but it's not supposed to be:
Having just finished watching the series, us not doing whatever it took to bring him back as coach, could be one of the defining moments of our club.
It needed Brady, Boomer, Archer, and possibly a couple of others, to jump on a plane, sell the vision, and secure his signature.

Dimma was also impressive, great communicator. Also have more respect now for Sloane, Nicks, Dew. And Rowell riding a bike up Everest for 24 hours. Beast.

How Leon is still coach of that club is astonishing. It's no wonder that Jezza, Williams, Corr, Caldwell all walked last year, plus all the other top talent that left in previous years.

Rubbish, it's always been 4 million a year. Read the articles. 8 million with Hawthorn (4 mill each)

The Mercury Newspaper:
Taxpayers fork out about $8 million per year for the government's Hawthorn and North Melbourne deals, which see the Hawks play games at the University of Tasmania Stadium in Launceston and the Kangaroos play at Blundstone Arena at Bellerive.

We are not getting the exact same money out of the Tasmanian government as Hawthorn does for the simple reason that Tasmania is Hawthorn's major sponsor. If the Tasmanian government (including subsidiaries) pays out $8 million each year, then we might be getting $2.5 - 3 million of that. We make a substantial amount from signage, sponsorships, gate, memberships etc as Kangatime suggests, but that is separate from government funding.

Here is a stupid idea, send a successful team that has a long history of Tassie players, a CEO from Tassie and a brand that can be transitioned easily over to Tassie given those logo and name.

Who do you ask is this mythical team, well that would be Richmond
Yep, thought this for a long time. The Tassie Tigers. Also, take a small club to Tassie, they’ll struggle down there and won’t make much difference to the remaining Melbourne teams. But take a large team out of Melbourne and they’re sure to be a success down there. And the pie they leave behind in Melbourne can be shared amongst the other remaining teams, making the likes of us, St Kilda and Bulldogs much stronger. See ya Tiges.

Y’know it makes sense. ;)

Tasmania can "focus" on North all it likes, but the sad truth is that North is a bigger economic power than Tasmania and could buy the entire island as a venue for away games.
