Not just incorrect.

An outright, intentionally false take.
Well it's akin to megaphone diplomacy, what she is doing now is doubling down on an incorrect call.

Its a bit like the empourers new clothes . Only in this scenario its not only a naive young boy that can see the truth but all in sunbury.

The saddest fact to come out of this is she has shown her hand as a bull$hitter.

It's not the public addressing of calls that's the problem Laura, it's the fact that your team reviews them and then publishes an incorrect interpretation that even the dumbest footy fans can see is wrong.
SonofSamsquanch is right about this. Its perception management.

If they can get you asking the right (ie wrong) questions then the more important stuff goes unanswered.

They’re too deep in it. The simplistic response from the AFL has been rightfully explained a thousand times on here. They are damaging their brand by doing this. Put ya hand up, ya ****ed up.

And hows Bard comments in that article? **** off campaigner. Visitor, not a shinboner. Kingy was right
“I tend to lean on the side that I get everyone wants to look at the late decisions because everyone perceives that as deciding games, but I think once we start going down the track of explaining every single umpiring decision, then it creates more frustration maybe, rather than less.”

**** off you pissweak company man.

By saying something completely stupid about the Scott 50 (when they can't really explain that decision away anyhow) they have misdirected the media into focusing on the words of the statement and it's absurdity. We all know the decision was wrong, but we are now really getting riled up over what the AFL said.

And in that, the AFL have deflected attention away from the dozen other bizarre umpiring events of the match. The media have pretty much forgotten everything else that happened.

And the AFL call on the one everybody is still crapping on about is that it was really Collingwood who were disadvantaged because the umpire ought to have called play-on so Scott could be tackled. Admittedly, they also put the non-reviewed touched "goal" incident to sleep by saying it was reviewed and denying that it was touched (WTF???).

So they have engineered the perception to the point where 90% of the garbage decisions have been forgotten about and the one that everybody knows should have been 50 is being beaten up because of the word-salad explanation issued as opposed to the potential that it would have given Bailey Scott a chance to kick his second goal of the day and to ice the game.

To an extent, I have this feeling in my gut that the media are actually playing this out just a little bit too much the way the AFL would want it - bluster and outrage but really, the Bartel type assessments have evaporated.

They only do the ARC score review on the scoreboard if the field umpire calls for a review. They insist that a review happens for every goal but clearly they don't spend the same amount of time on it and they don't show the decision unless there's an overrule.

So the context was that media got to visit the Arc

Tom Morris goofing around on Nien in there

Failed to ask how a room of eyes in screens failed to see Scott’s finger tips bend back

Bravo

Sheez mentioned in his segment with Dwayne on SEN that it’s been nice to hear positive news stories about us after our last two games. You get the sense that the love shown us by the media off the back of strong performances has the group feeling good about themselves, which can only be a good thing for all of us as it translates to more wins.

The biggest problem now is that everyone gets to run over the mark regardless of the whistle and only has to stop when the umpire says stand. That's going to result in multiple 50 metre penalties because Laura is talking shit.
I can't wait. It will be free for all.

Until a North player does it.

Ironically, it will probably be Bailey Scott. Poor bloke played well but was crucified by the umpires and the AFL.

Nat Edwards a low-key North hater fwiw.
So is the human helium inhaler Jay Clark.

Side note: Tonight he was actively championing for Tyson Stengle to leave the Cats and chase the big money on offer.

Funnily enough the club in the box seat to get Stengle’s signature is his beloved *club from *Injector Hill..

Thats Eddie McChins levels of desperation..

If I was a player I think I would troll Laura Kane. Go on a radio interview:

“Laura Kane has really clarified the situation for us players we now know we don’t have to wait for the umpire to say play on. we can anticipate a player playing on and try to tackle them and it won’t result in a fifty. This rules clarification is really significant and clears up this grey area.

This weekend I won’t be waiting for the umpire to say play on. We will just run over the mark. We now know from Laura that this is not a fifty. So that’s what I plan to do.”

Let the AFL chew on that one lol

I thought Clark was a Pies or Cats man.

What great news, the AFL's independent assessment conducted by checks notes "the AFL" has declared their rule tweak a success! 🙄
