i know i did. now i hope more than anything these guys win the flag

they are the only example of team pride left in the afl business, and deserve to win the flag more than every club in the comp combined

and adding to this, i hope dean laidley stands on that afl podium, looks down the camera, and says "wayne, your a ********"

So Juddas walks out on your rabble, and all of a sudden the Roo's are the only club left in the comp, deserving of any pride.

We know the Juddy saga has cut deep with you boys, but give the Cats and Port some credit ffs.

LOL, this guy makes me laugh

this has nothing to with wc mate, im just saying that out of the four clubs left, and even the 16 in the whole comp, the roos are the only team i see with a true sense of club pride

Can you expand this a little further. I can understand why Richmond, Carlton and Melbourne are lacking a little pride ATM, but the rest of them?

Please explain....

After round 1 i thought we would, with Collingwood coming 15th. LOL. In my defence that was one of the worst games ever played.

Yep, I'm guilty, once Nathan Thompson went down I picked the Roos for the spoon.

However I also selected the Cats to be a strong contender.

This is the ladder I predicted in the newsgroup, aus.sport.aussie-rules

West Coast
Western Bulldogs
Geelong
Fremantle
Sydney
St Kilda
Port Adelaide
Melbourne

Adelaide
Hawthorn
Essendon
Richmond
Brisbane
Carlton
Collingwood
Kangaroos

I had Brisbane for the Spoon....Especially when Bradshaw went down before the season started.

And I thought I was on a winner when they didn't win a match for 2 months.

They improved though....

compare them to other affluent clubs. many of the roos players could have bailed on that club, and gone somewhere else e.g. swallow, boomer harvey, sinclair, to name just a few

but all stuck by the roos, and its evident in the way they play footy. no material bullshit, just footy, and they fly the flag, they play for one another. whether this is making space, tackling, shepherding, having his teamates back, no one demonstrates pride and affinity like the roos

the closest comparison i can make is comparing a team like chelsea to a team such as borough or wigan...watch chelsea play man u for the title, then watch one of these teams battle to stay in the top flight (06/07 season). one plays with pride, passion and integrity, and as a team, the other plays with arrogance, and look like a jig-saw. its not an easy thing to explain unless you watch it firsthand, but its quite amazing when you do see it. its like watching the roos, not blessed with talent, but a real team mindset.

they impress me big time, and i wish them all the best, and hope wc can learn a thing or two from this club, as im sure other clubs will in future seasons. hopefully the roos have cast us back to a brighter time in football, one where there was actually pride in the jumper

haha bit of a blow out with the bottom 2 there...but you were far from alone

I too picked the Roo's for the spoon, and it seems i was incorrect

mine looked very similar!

Yep, i tipped the Roos to finish last. Thought it was a certainty once Thompson went down
Also tipped the Pies to finish 2nd last once Rusling went down. Didn't think Cloke would become as important as he did

Congrats to both teams, have had great seasons

I picked them to finish last and the tip was looking really good after 3 rounds. To their credit they have done extremely well. I cant see them beating Port over there though, but if they do, lets hope the pies get up because if they play the cats again, they will just get smashed.

I think you are wrong with the whole team pride thing. Every team has pride, thats why they play footy.

As for your comments about what Laidley should say to Carey. Your the dickehead for mentioning this, if you listen to Carey all along. He never stated Laidley couldnt coach, just said he wasnt the face for the Kangaroos if they want to move forward.
