Harry hasn't played a bad afl game this season not sure what benefit there is from outing him and bringing in busslinger. I'd only look at trading Harry if a big fish like warner was on the cards
Those two games he played injured in the most uncompetitive side in a generation in 2023 was clearly enough for a few nuffies on here.

Why are we going for a tall less elite kick lewis Jetta???

Until Curtin shows some defensive prowess I'm not touching him with a 10 foot pole. He's not worth our first. He's worth a pick from 16 onwards.

He's a liability in defending worse then Jamo/Edward. Absolute liability. Who won't see a game in defence for 2 years
He's a tweener. He's essentially a wingman masquerading as a KPD because of his height.

Don't get me wrong he's a good footballer and has some great attributes but what's his role at AFL level?

IMO he needs to work on building an elite tank.

Play him as a winger then instead of the crabs we have now, hunt excluded

I think the ideal wing is a bigger body type like Embley. Someone who can score when pushing forward, and then take a grab in the backline. Acres 193cm and McIntosh 191cm are probably the closest to him today. Unbelievable that Carlton got him for a future 3rd. You can't have 2 that size though, Embley and Braun complimented each other well.

It took Embley a few years to build his tank. I doubt Maric could, Hutchinson maybe but will need time. Hough has the talent and tank already at 191cm and he'd be the one I'd push onto a wing, but Simpson only knows how to turn players into Defenders.
Good idea. Like the thiinking

Harry Edwards is a better defender now sure but his lack of pace and athletic attributes makes his ceiling so much lower .
I agree his ceiling is lower. I don’t think either have a particularly high chance of being barrass / McGovern level.

You have to have more than above average athletic qualitys to succeed at afl level tho.

I rate Witherden over Rotham cos he isnt softer then wet toilet paper. Dont mind that best back 6 though. Good job :)
I would be very happy to get rid of both witho and rotham .

Backline and midfield should be a priority at trade/draft this year . We already have Bergiel who i think needs to be given afl opportunity

In no particular order we target in trade perryman, busslinger, kaleb Smith all good users of the football .

You make him sound like a clone of Brander.

Agreed, delighted in fact. Xavier Lindsay and even Taj Hotton (although someone mentioned flight risk?) would be two to look at drafting as well as Travaglia who can fill that HBF/wing role with short midfield bursts in the longer term. Would also love those three you mentioned which would hopefully cost a grand total of our 2R and 4R. Burgiel, Hall and Culley all need to play this week, how else are we going to find out whether to give him another contract?

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but Harry Barnett signed 2 year contract till 2026 according to afl.com
I've got to say I wasn't thrilled when we drafted Barnett. I didn't love his ruck work, I thought his height was a real issue especially projecting forward as most other clubs were banking 205cm+ ruckman.
He does however move like a midfielder, amd can have a great impact around the ground. He just needs 2 more preseasons to develop in size and tank before we see what he can be, don't be short sighted on him. Give him time, he'll take longer to develop. I love to see he's signed for 2 more years, shows we're both invested in each other.

That was me Re Hotton flight risk, it was more a strong gut feel. Haileybury/Sandringham Dragon boy.

Agree with all of that but can’t see it happening. I’d give Witho a contract because quite simply we need the warm body for that spot

Brander should have been pegged as a third tall defender. Curtin has a much much better contested ground ball game.

Bolton now also linked to Freo. things could get very interesting in trade week if Bolton and Baker both want to head home…

Could also just be a text sent to Gossage.
Bolton (25 years old, contracted until 2028) for three picks in the mid-late teens/early 20s.

Forget Norf, they should fold Richmond if they approve that deal.

Still not rating a mention in the Crows team selection, not even as an emergency. Seems so odd with where their trajectory is to not chuck him a few games.

If Freo added their F1 to the mix I think Richmond would answer the phone and would rule them out of the possible Chad Warner race you’d think. Might also be the opportunity for us to involved if we wanted to split pick 3. One of Freo’s picks would have to be top 10 for either situation though.

What about if we do pick 3 and our 2nd rounder for 10, 15, Freo F1?

Would let us trade the worst first rounder for Baker and maybe get our 3rd rounder back in return.
Only leaves us a little awkward to get Buss, our F2 hopefully would get it done.

Leaves us with 10, a 3rd rounder, buss and Baker.
Our 1st and Freo F1, our 3rd rounder next year

Freo left with 3, 13, our 2nd rounder and their 2nd rounder to offer for Bolton

Tigers end up with picks 2 and 3, along with whatever else they can conjure up with their abundance of later picks with someone like GC

Harry literally will take up 1% of the salary cap and worst case scenario he is depth. Let Harry and bazzo develop before we sell the farm for busslinger.
Agree with Barnett, but we really need more than 1 developing KPD with Gov near the end and TB having maybe 3-4 years left at most.
Buss would replace Gov, and then Bazzo could take Rothams role hes been doing this year. Room for both

Not quite sure how Freo are affording to pay $90 million for their two ruckmen, recruit Baker, C.Cameron, Chad Warner and now Shai Bolton.

If you ask my Freo mates, they are signing all of them this year and winning the flag in 2025.
