Ideal scenario here is probably that Freo pays us back for not bidding up players who've gone to them when we had the chance (Jackson most recently) and leaves Richmond with zero option to take whatever we scrape together for Baker. Not a disaster if we miss out but if we can get him for a much better price than we were expecting and accumulate some future picks for Warner then this whole trade period could suddenly look quite nice.

Also for as much as Baker apparently wanted fair compo surely the coach and Graham already being here changes the maths somewhat. A late first or an early second are really not that far apart.

Clarke and McQualter also basically ruling out going for Bolton too

Hawks fan slowly realising on there board that there still gonna have to at least give up a future 1st and future 2nd for barrass minimum. I think a lot of them were so excited they thought by trading pick 14 they were going to get him for pick 71 or something. 😂
Considering they got a f1 and f2 for pick 14, theyll be happy if thats what it ends up being.

Its not enough

It doesn't have anything to do with his worth, only that Baker wants fair compo for a club that did alright for him which I'm ok with. What that fair compo amounts to is another question though.
Does the value have to do by how highly he rates himself then?
There are only 2 WA teams, so the fact he nominated the team with less draft capital restricts the compensation that he can yield for his beloved Tigers. So it's on him, it's not up to us to manufacture a draft pick that he thinks he is worth.

Judd is a different story, there were no mixed opinions of what he was worth.
He doesn't even have to rate himself to know that any team gaining him needs to pay a high price, and that him leaving would have a big impact on his former club.
Can't say the same thing about Baker...

I think the deal will be
Hawks F1 + Blues F1
For
TB and F2.

Issue is which one do we keep out of Hawks or Blues? Who is likely to finish lower?

do our sheets get a breather over the weekend or are we going full bedwetting mode all the way through?

One of them suggested that they trade Hawthorn's F1st and Carlton's F1st for Barrass and our pick 26 (currently), which would be absolutely ridiculous as it would mean that this season we'd be left with pick 3 and then pick 63 as our 2nd pick which is exactly the opposite of what Clarke indicated he wanted to achieve.
Future picks are worth less. It should now be Hawthorn's F1st and Carlton's F1st for Barrass.

That’s gross

Don’t even get an extra pick in this super draft and give our F2…

That could end up being 14 and 17 for TB and 22

Also, we don’t want to be armed with several firsts for Warner, Sydney will ask for them all

A lot of you guys need to chill.

This trade between Carlton and Hawthorn is good for everyone.

Eagles want a 1st and 2nd and hawks don't want to pay that. They want to keep a 2nd next year.

Mackenzie has cleverly unlocked an extra 2nd so now we can satisfy Clark with a 1st and 2nd while keeping a 2nd next year

The only difference is that the Eagles get a F1 instead of 14. But that strengthens the possibility of getting Warner next year anyway.

Everyone wins here.

Correct, I dont even want to hold our normal f1 because of this.

IF we were to get those 2 f1s from the hawks, then trade our f1 into this year, I could live with that.
F1 for 6 or 9+something.

Then the Swans can only ask for the hawks and blues first rounders next year if Warner wants to come to the Eagles

Eagles dont win here. 14 is worth more than either of your future picks.

If we get both your f1s I could live with it.
Youve still generated an extra 2nd rounder so surely youre good with it anyway
