Upshot of this trade period for both WC and Freo, is we absolutely need to dispense with the infatuation of bringing good West Australians home whilst in Contract - its killing us both.

Its now FAOFO only.

Free Agents or F### off.

Get the Victorians and then trade them out for value.

Better than living with this obsession about bringing west Australians.

If the D.Rioli deal goes through as is being reported, Richmond will have as many first round picks in this draft as what West Coast have taken over the last ten years.
I just hope in 2 years time when Richmond have won 3 spoons in a row and have their hand out to the afl it is explained to them that they traded out all theirgood senior players and they are in this situation from there own doing .

Will be annoying if we don't get a much improved outcome from the TB trade that still would've left us with pick 3.
2 F1's has to be the minimum after Clarke stood his ground and ended up losing pick 3.
Just one F1 will be another massive failure for Clarke after all this, and would be a point of no return.
If we can get both F1's it will give us an opportunity to deathride both Hawthorn & Carlton next season.

At least they would have the guts to ask for a priority pick. The entirety of what we did was us being too weak to ask for any priority picks

If you haven't noticed but the Eagles don't have the same access to trade in players from a big pool. Most won't consider moving West.

So when the opportunity comes to bring in talent being a year older than your preference doesn't mean you don't do it.

They turn 28 next year. Let's not split straws.

I am not talking about problems of getting players in. These players are NOT in that age bracket so these changes do not address any issues solves any problems we have in the 23-27 age bracket.

Imagine recognising it's time to rebuild and immediately offloading old players en mass and replacing with a mass cluster of elite teenagers in a super draft who will all develop at the same time. Are they nuts?

Gold Coast don't have the problem of talking players to go there also in recent times so maybe it's also a us thing
That's what is scary. Pyke is not the messiah some people thought he was - noting he has already been sacked from one club. He's a buffoon with the keys to the car at the moment.

They are 1 year outside the age group.

You are splitting hairs.

I'm sure if we could get players a bit younger like say Peatling.....we would. We tried.

When plan A doesn't work you go to plan B.

Don’t agree with that at all but I do think our club is not focused on what it should be.
Money takes care of itself at the Eagles yet it seems to be a focus of the club.
Football should be the focus and a win at all costs attitude should be implemented.

Giving pick 3 away, wreaks of new management, prioritising short term success ahead of the long term. Which is more in their own interests.

I thought maybe Worsfold returning before the draft, would be a voice to stop such nonsense.
Short term success or simply being competitive?

I hate this loony tunes ass trade but if bringing in some mature bodies helps the team not get flogged then it's probably a good thing for the development of our kids.
