You tell Sydney pick 3 is off limits and offer, if we get it, hawks and Carlton 2025 R1 or a trade up of both of these picks for a top ten pick and offer it along with our F1 (2026). If that price is not enough he costs too much and you go to the draft with your picks and apologise to the player and say we made the highest offer the club saw reasonable but weren’t able to facilitate an acceptable deal.

You then bring in Fred Rodriguez and likely trade your two firsts up higher so they’re not at risk of bids and draft an immense hand in 2025 with two top ten picks and a bunch of talented WA academy kids with NGA bids.

The rebuild was delayed, it’s now trying to be shortcut sooner or later we’re going to have to utilise premium draft capital efficiently.

Pyke 2025 trade period: "Well, we had promised Chad so that's why we have given up three first round picks and two future firsts...."

Can only see the below deal getting us to 11

Hawks F1st + F2nd + our future 2nd for Pick 11 + Tigers F3rd

I think the Hawks stuff only wont cut it
I reckon Hawks F1 and our F2 would go very close if they are looking to trade out. That’s 2 top 20 picks and likely our F2 would have lesser value to us due to our NGA and FS

Issue is do they do 10 and 11 now for 2?

Tigers F3 is with the Dockers now, Freo starting to get points for their the academy player

They will either bundle or move a couple out youd think

Or you bring it forward and pick up two 1st rounders in a deep even draft.

Get 12 months development into them.

Bringing a future pick forward is fast tracking a rebuild. Not delaying it.

Have we ever traded a future 1st? Don't recall doing so.

How about other clubs. They are all doing it. And getting better doing it.

Do we sit on our (wet) hands and continue operating like clubs had to in the past or do we catch up and take the advantages that most other clubs take every year.

I actually reckon we should trade out our future first to tigers and get a better deal... 10 and 18 for example. They will still have 1 6 11 20 lol, so I think a potential top 3 pick in 2025 may be appealing.

Now before I get blasted, I'm basing this on the fact that we go for warner next year and if we've learnt anything, fair value goes out the window and when push comes to shove, what you have will suffice. The key is to get warner to nominate us and I think the Harley appeal mentioned here helps with that.

Let's get maximum value for this year and then we can give Sydney hawks 1 and out F1 and whatever sweetener next year.

This year 10 12 18 and 26.
Next year warner.

Rebuild is back on the menu lads.

Thank you

Anyone blasting you isn't using their brain.

From the AFL website

The 23-27 age backet [sic] is another hole in the Eagles' list that they are keen to address, with Baker, Owies and free agent Jack Graham all helping in that regard

Who Writes this stuff? None of them will be in that age bracket (unless you count 27/28 year olds as well). Both Graham and Baker will be 27 and Owies will be 28 by the time the season starts in 2025.

Credit to Richmond. They are doing what we should have done 3 years ago. Get value for their players.
What a start to their rebuild.

Meanwhile we are stuck with aging, lazy veterans who have no value and management STILL refuse to admit we're in a rebuild. Sheer arrongance and incompetence.

Credit to Hawthorn, they didn't want to give away too much trade capital, knowing that we wanted Baker, and knowing we want a F1 and F2. They swap their pick to Carlton, to use it for the Barrass deal, keeping their future first and current second rounder. Effectively only costing them one first round pick.

Savy ****ers

Everyone applauded giving Yeo 3 more years................

Let’s not change the narrative here.

Richmond are being forced into trading out almost every desirable ‘mid-age’ player they have on their list because they quit the club - not because they’ve made some gutsy list-busting call to trade veterans for top picks.

They wanted to keep all 4 players that are departing - even Jack Graham.

What they’ve done well is extracting value at the trade table - but dealing with WC, GC and Fremantle, I guess they have lucked out there too.

So Bo Allan to west coast all but confirmed as long as no one in front of us reaches for him early?!
As much as we want Travaglia I can see us taking Allen coz WA kid.

As we know, what fans want and what the club want are miles apart

Real tough to trade Barras out and a top 10 pick in, inside the last day. We’ll be paying a huge premium for a top 10 pick
Yeah not sure how it gets done - though we can trade picks right up to draft night. Richmond might motivated to trade one of their first round picks for our F1+F2 - they probably have more first round picks than list spaces at the moment.
