West Coast is not selling Yeo for a third round pick, just like no team is buying Yeo for a first or second round pick.

So you get to keep him.

So can we move on from the Yeo and Darling, and what ever other perma-crocks or pensioners no one wants to trade for, type discussions.
Yeo plays well in the back half of the season and clubs think they can convince him to join watch them line up.

It was a great run and shot at goal in the 4th.

Hopefully Chess picks up more nous with every game. Not giving up yet.
Agree. Xon has been on the list for how long? Chesser has been here for 18 months and played a handful of games it’s far to early to write him off.

Who da **** is this guy

Nic Martin said in a recent interview he was nervous and wasn't training as well as he should have when he was with us so it's likely we didn't see what essendon did when he got the second chance.
The point still remains the Essendon gave him the 2nd chance, so they must have seen something we didn't.

So many of you are going to be disappointed when we don't delist 10-12 players and replace them all this year.
Agree it will be far more moderate in the list rebuild. Will be very similar to the last couple of years with about 5-6 on the main list and a couple of rookies. Same will happen most likely in 2024.

I thought in 2021 when the club first talked about a list transition that it would be around 15-18 over a 4 year period mostly through the draft however I think now in hindsight it may be a little more aggressive and hopefully the club can also get aggressive in the free agency market.

Well....I do have some stories from my youth but perhaps this isn't the time and place.
Lets just say people who look like animals appeared to be a trigger :drunk:🤣😂🤣

DGB is a genuinely horrific player, I question whether you’ve even watched him because when people ask us to go for him, I lose my s**t lol.

McDonald and Naughton we should target for sure, but those teams will likely match any offer and force us into a trade, definitely don’t want to overpay for McDonald. Also think if Naughton comes home it’ll probably be to Fremantle anyway.

English I’d like.
I just can't see the value in English given what we'd have to pay.

We've gone down the development route with Williams really upping his game this year. One of the few highlights.
Jamo has stagnated but could become a KPD while we have the development happening with the best ruck from the 2022 draft.

If we get English for a first or future first we'd be getting a guy who's at his peak, more than half way through his career and has 1-2 years at the absolute top of his game before entering the high pay with declining output portion of his career.
In the meantime Williams becomes 2nd ruck/forward or leaves for opportunity. Jamo gets cut and after a couple of years Barnett leaves for a lead ruck gig elsewhere.
We've then wasted our entire time spent on developing rucks just to spend big on a declining RFA.

I'm not a big fan of the 'buy high, sell low' investment club. And that's what we'd be doing to get English.
We've got history of developing rucks.
Much better to continue on the development path. Let's see what Barnett offers before spending big on a mature, soon to decline, expensive option like English.

Interesting article at Fox Sports discussing where the Eagles went wrong.

One key comment. Lack of inventiveness in trading and list management.

We seem to be lagging behind all other clubs when it comes to list management. And are too accomodating with older players looking for that big last contract.

Have to agree.
Is lack of inventiveness in trading and list management code for getting bent over at the trade table ?

Well he was on our supp list last year and somehow couldn’t crack a game

A very good player; I have been singing his praises all year. He was previously on Carlton's list at one stage, I believe. I hope we put JJ on the LTI list, and take Schumacher with a second pick - if he has nominated for the MSD.

English is a FA next year so the cost is wage more than draft capital.

English, whilst older which is a significant factor for rucks more than mids when assessing development in the 22-26yo years, is a sure thing.

If we were to get English, lose BW, develop Barnett as a 2nd ruck and keep CJ as a backup then it is a net gain.

Can we just agree on Dev for Port's 3rd rounder at most and move on? 😂
Seems you keep trying to pump up his value.
It'll be pick 55 at this stage which is not a bad outcome for your team.
There is zero chance we'll part with our 3rd round pick which is currently pick 38.
If Port slides a bit, then it might be our 4th round pick on the table which is pick 57 at this stage.
You're not gonna get much more than that for a player that still can't get a regular spot after 4 seasons.
Similar value to an SPP or Witho.
We were generous when we gave you guys 2 3rd round picks for Witho.
If he wants to move to Victoria (or Freo) and another team wants to pay you more for him, then so be it, but we won't be overpaying.
"If" he nominates WC then he won't be looking at any other offers.
Pump up his value to who? BOND 007

I don't work for Brisbane, and no one here works for West Coast.

I know he'll get traded for very little. I've said as much here and on the Lions board.

Look at my avatar, I've been a Dev fan since we drafted him. That's him walking across the MCG before his debut game at the MCG, round 1 in 2020, right before the season (and the year) went to hell.

I just like posting stuff here about Dev, because I know he's not going to get a chance at the Lions, and hope he gets a good go of it with you guys.

briztoon do you reckon your mob would let Jimmy Tunstill come home? What sort of price do you think it woudl take?
I think we'll hold on to Tunstill for a couple more seasons. We're potentially going to be short on mids in our VFL team next year, and depth for our senior team. Fair chance that Jimmy will be first in, if there are any injuries to a mid. After next season, it depends on where he sits in the pecking order with Levi Ashcroft and our academy mid after next year's draft.

Some of those comments were laughable though. They don’t take account of lack of draft options and picks as well as other stuff such as difficulties in developments due to WAFL situation. Was it that article that bagged the club for not going hard enough for Jackson….after previously bagging it for selling the farm for Kelly?

Surely Levi Ashcroft is a chance to move in with his brother and just play for the Brisbane vfl side next season we all know he’s going to Brisbane no point in him getting 40 every week in the 18s comp
