Well, you'll be pleased to know that long-term, Simmo sees Williams as a KPF who pinch-hits in the ruck. He said this on Ask Simmo this week.

Might've even been in response to Miguel Sanchez's question.

Schoey might have even said he liked the stats I come up with on Twitter.

"And here we have a question from resident pest, Miguel Sanchez, with yet another question about injuries."

I’ve managed to hold off so far this year, actually.

I’ve limited myself to making snarky comments here.

I have Moir upside on being Touk Miller with goal kicking added

Moir is a tricky prospect for me, I love him and I think he’s a class player, but like some others have said - I don’t see him being a bonafide midfield star by any means, I think he’ll be a forward for his career and occasionally be able to pinch hit in midfield

I’m not sure I’d spend a top 3 pick on that archetype despite how much I like him and how confident I am in him becoming a very good player

I wonder who he sees as a potential number 1 ruck on our list then? Jamo isn't one, so that leaves Barnett.

Depends on how many 18 year olds you want to bring in at one time.

Whether you can entice decent quality mature agers to come to your club.

If you can’t get decent quality mature age players, better off going for the best possible kids.

And the quality of those 17 year olds.

WCE_phil only just today spoke about how high he rated Jack Martin as a junior. And everyone rated O’Meara as a can’t miss prospect.

So yeah, in their position, Gold Coast probably did the right thing at the time.

What happened after, isn’t on the list management side of the discussion.
As a Claremont supporter I saw Martin play in the colts and thought he was great. I would not have taken him as a cornerstone for a start up club. Sheer stupidity. I said it at the time and stand by it. Hogan was allowed to spend a lot of his time back home in Perth as an example.

The maturity needed by a 16 turning 17 year old to go and live amongst the cane toads!!!

But there again I often disagree on going “best available” as I’d go “best available fit” in most drafts. Interstate clubs do not get to trade for needs.

Just watched the latest edition of Gettables - i think Moir has to be our man. He has family in Perth, and supports the Eagles. He is so well spoken and not a big-headed twat. There would be no flight risk.
Come on down Moir.
Just watched that as well, same, didn't know he had such strong ties to WA, mum from Perth and he and mum both eagles supporters...I'm thinking we're gonna split again!!

Can definitely see him in the guts, not having a preferred foot is huge for a mid

The fact he can kick on both feet at an incredibly high level is the main thing that intrigues me about him, I’m not sure there have been many players as skilled as he appears to be on both feet

Interesting little snippet of news that I learnt today, watching Gettable with Cal and Riley.

They interviewed Ashton Moir.

He is a West Coast supporter, as is his Mum.

Mum is an Australian Olympian and is from Perth, he has grandparent is Perth.
He is off Burmese heritage.

me thinks that just removed the flight risk question that I had in my mind.

I currently have him in my top four in this years cohort.

Consequently i will be tracking his progress this year ever closer .

For those who haven't seen the kid play, he is a freak kicks off both feet on the run and set shots.

They asked him in the interview whats his preferred foot and he said he doesn't have one and it depends where he is on the ground.
Also said the dual sidedness of his games helps him weave and work his way out of traffic.

Late Edit: I see this news has already been posted, however I will keep the post as the kids needs some fans.... I am one.

Same, I wonder if we may go down the split the pick path again!

Some do better than others.

Did you see Moir and Will Patton on 360 yesterday?
Patton saying Moir's got x factor and compares him to Heeney

No I missed it.

Thats quite a complement to Moir, I do get the similarity.

Edit ( seems my theme for the night :p ).... just watched it.

Just quietly Will Patton is a pretty talented player himself.
