I just can’t see us getting the Suns R1 pick.

For a start it’ll cost us the meat and potatoes part of our draft (19,34,38) where there is some reasonable players available and in all likelihood that won’t be enough to beat offers from other clubs

We could promise not to bid on Walter at pick 1 but then that handcuffs us from trading that pick if a godfather offer comes in

That said if Hawthorn give GCS pick 3 (4 after north get their freebie) then trading our F1 for 3 becomes an option in the hope that North skip either Curtin or McKercher by taking Watson or Duursma

Another pick in the teens and another pick around 25 would be nice.

Difficult to see any draft picks coming our way from trades.

If it was last year I would agree because I always had Hewitt at or near the top of my list.Ginbey was the steak knives. Reid is a totally different kettle of fish.Straight into the VFL system and already looking the goods.

Reid got a pretty big shout out from Brad Scott about his time at Essendon as both training with them and his game in the VFL.
Kids lifted and delivered at every level that he has been elevated to, for me a no brainer just * take him with the number 1 pick.

And they could get picks for Flanders, Burgess, Sharpe ect. Points are easy to achieve and the Suns are in a nice spot to achieve them

They’ll be late picks.

The Suns problem is they need other teams to take the picks to the draft, and live trade on the night.

Jesus bzparkes, I don't know how you've been operating in that Pick 1 worth thread without being banned already. I made a post about Norf having less bargaining power to get JFHs worth as their culture is trash and got a slap on the wrist for it.

North likely getting a band 1 compo pick for McKay has thrown everything up in the air, I'd be kinda okay if we did win another game and finished second last if it meant we got WA talent Curtin with pick 2 but if we miss out on the spoon we will get pick 3 and miss out on both Reid and Curtin. Hate to say it but I hope we tank the last few games. Derby is winnable if we play to win imo. The Crows game in the last round is also winnable if they are out of finals contention. I think Simmo is coaching for his career and Nisbett wants one last win to not finish last, it is not smart imo.

Looks like a good way for the AFL to give Norf a priority pick without giving them a priority pick (and not having to offer WC anything)
