I’d give him number 9 it hasn’t been used for 2 years and it would be good for the number one pick to get it.

9x All Australians between the last 2 handy players who have worn that jumper as well.

He's a competitive beast. Give him the responsibility of that number and I'm sure he'll understand the significance and rise to the occasion.

He's ranked roughly at 40. If he lasts to 41, we can match a bid. But we'd have to really rate him to pull a stunt like that.

"Hey Lance, old boy, whaddaya say, you say "I don't want to move interstate", and we "defo draft you, or match any bid if you last past 40?"

Person with post 100 IQ: "But if you f***o's change your mind, or you trade away picks to get an early pick or part of a huge trade, I'm left standing with my dick in my hands. I'll just stfu and hope I get drafted by the team that wants me the most".
I'm confused, do you think we won't match if we trade away later picks? You do realise that to match a pick at pick 41 we require the equivalent of pick 58 and 59. We can get those in a heartbeat from someone.

Before the draft all the attitude 'issues' , had to change schools, blowing vape smoke in the face of a Collingwood recruiter , playing out of his skin vs metro then relegated to the forward pocket , playing wafl seniors in the forward pocket instead of colts midfield and everyone thought he would slide out of the first round and we pounced .

When we split pick 2 Hewett was the target and ginbey was the bonus

Vape smoke doesn’t make sense. It’s vape or smoke.

Regardless, did he actually vape as a one off in front a Collingwood recruiter…..that’s hillarious

More so if wce put him up to it

Hopefully not rise to Naitanui's predecessor's off-field antics though...

Or 17, it’s had a year off and every player who’s worn it* has played at least 100 games and won at least 1 flag.

(*not counting Don Langsford who had it in 1987 but only played a preseason game).

Winder and Trew are two who you could imagine making it, but the reality is they haven't yet, and we can't keep carrying these long shots who may make it. Sorry boys, you're done. Go back and dominate WAFL and hopefully you make it back onto an AFL list.

Reality is they probably sink without much of a trace.

"Likely" and "probably not".

Culley
“I would think he would be there next year"

Winder
"sources close to Winder believe he won’t be at the club next year."

Clark
"you have to think he’s in fairly significant danger.”

Witherden
"finished top 10 in their best and fairest, so you’d think he gets another deal.”

Zane Trew, Xavier O’Neill, Connor West

“I think O’Neill is at risk, I think Trew is at risk… West I think is in danger.”

I dont know if we were reading the same article that all sounds pretty clear to me

I mean, stop wasting words and say what you mean. You'd have to be lacking in confidence not to be able to say Clark is gone, for example.

Hell, wasn't Culley's extension announced and he "thinks he would be there next year".

I'm saying, pity the fool who would put all his eggs in one basket. people change their minds for various reasons.

Allan is a beast, he is going to be a handy player, has bulked up and is quite dominant at VFL level, just tough to break into the pies side, he will be their pendles replacement.

Would say he’s more of a Sidebottom replacement, he’ll be on the wing at AFL level.

He has to to say he "thinks" or in his opinion, he's a journo not the actual list manager

And no Culleys hasn't been officially announced by the club

If we did go Reid at 1(fingers crossed), does the club reserve number 9 for him to give him a little pump up? How do the jumper numbers work? Thought it pretty much comes down to seniority and existing club players have choice of numbers of retiring players and then the new players just get to pick out of what ever is left over.

Not if you are a high draft pick, you get first dibs if you get drafted in the first round, especially pick one.

It's an opinion piece literally titled 'Making a call on every out-of-contract Eagle', after which, he proceeds to make no calls, just equivocations.

I don't preface every post I write with 'in my opinion' because I respect my audience enough to know they are reading my opinion. And I don't think any reader is mistaking Duff for the list manager.

To be fair, I think it’s actually something he’s said on radio that SEN have turned into an article.

Hard to say why they haven’t made it. As you suggest they both seem to have something but both have less than ten games. By comparison Foley, XON, Clark, West etc have 20+ so have had time to show their wares. Assuming the other two have a good attitude (Winder?) then I’d rather give say ten games to them than see Waterman, Rotham, SPS or Witherden add to their 60-120 games (with too many being mediocre).

Surely we need to cycle through as many new faces as possible looking for another Noah Long? For that reason I couldn’t see the sense in not going for MSD #2. Possibly would have been a bust but who would have thought Pick 58 would have got a ten year player?

He's a journo not some BF nuffy. If Duffield says "Greg Clark is gone next year" that more than likely gets reported by others as Clark has been delisted.

He makes calls on every single player he mentions, it's clear as it can be.

Its a friggin strange thing to upset by

I'm not upset.
