The CHF for the Swans that year was Lewis Roberts-Thomson, not Goodes.

Regardless, 1st pick doesn’t seem to have anyone that’s a Dixon type anywhere near there in the rankings, Amiss may go top 10 but seems to be more of a lead up full forward. Are we that desperate that we go with Amiss (195cm) or whoever is the best 200cm forward, or do you think we will go with the best available in this case. I’m really attached to getting Matthew Johnson. (Assuming English isn’t available).

I honestly dont know who we trade or get. I just know we are drafting a KPP forward this year and expect it to be in the main draft in 1st round and a high priority for us.

A tall KPP forward is a bigger priority then say a HBF which some have mentioned to target

What year btw?

In 2005 Barry Hall was CHF, OLoughlin FF and Goodes HFF now I think about it? How is that not a great forward line?

Should have won flags well before that though? Our dynasty should have been 2004,2005,2006,2007
Right, should've won the flag from 7th in '04? ok.

Lost to Sydney by 4 points in '05

Won '06

Off-field implosion by players in '07 plus injuries to this amazing midfield followed by Judd & Cousins departures.

It's actually more amazing that the club held it together long enough to win in '06, considering all the off-field issues they had with players.

Nobody is disagreeing with you that you need decent forwards to win a premiership but you don't exactly need star power. Hell, Collingwood almost beat us in '18 with a forward combo of Mason Cox and Brodie Mihocek.

No point having these amazing forwards if your midfield can't get it to them.

I'd have thought watching WCE since the bye would have affirmed this for you but the fact that you want to sell the farm for Tim ****ING English indicates that you're somewhat oblivious to our midfield woes.

I was talking about 2012 when their leading goalscorer was Lewis Jetta and their best talls were Goodes and Sam Reid.

What about the half dozen other examples I listed off?

Except you said I was lieing at that exact timeas a flat out repsonse to that post? Then someone trawled up a Twitter post that said I was wrong and then low and behold AFL.com.au release a few articles that prove im correct and you cry about it

Apologise like a man

No im 12 years old.

We would sell the farm for Tim English. He is the exact player we want. To a tee. I would give up 1st, 2nd and Bailey Williams for him for sure but Doggies would probably need a KPP defender back for 1st and 2nd before theyd do it and would need to rate Williams the required amount too obviously

Are you ****ed in the head?

f’ed in the head was trading more for a soft receiver who cant influence a game like Tim Kelly

Id trade Tim Kelly straight swap for Tim English for example and so would everyone in the AFL community

Long way of just saying yes.

Soft receiver? He led Geelong in clearances and was second in contested possessions in 2019, in a team that had Dangerfield and Selwood.

Put that up as a poll on the main board and see what wins? Pretty sure people know Tim English is the game changer and Tim Kelly is the bad trade

Keys can we add the poll please but include the option that this poster is ****ed in the head.

And then he became a soft receiver at West Coast whose running one way and in general being a bad player.
Led us in tackles last year.
Third in contested possessions, half a CP per game behind Sheed and Naitanui.

Third in all those stats this year.

- Him leading us in tackles this year was a MASSIVE issue. Everyone knows that. Big issue also with that stat is our better tacklers like Yeo,Shuey not playing enough and then Simmo inexcusably not playing guys like Hutchings
- Him being third in those stats is a big issue. He came here to be 1st in those stats and by a long way. Naitanui outpacing him isnt good enough

You’re talking about the same mob who decided they had to have Tim Kelly at any price, and Jarrod Brander, who they’ve so successfully scrambled that he doesn’t know whether he’s Arthur or Martha. Sadly, they seem to be doing something similar with Allen.
Despite these blunders, they’re now right about the priority need for a 200 cm ff?

2012. Goodes kicked 37 but they were mostly from the wing and running out the back, they got most of their goals from their slingshot game plan (Jetta led with 45). LRT only kicked 25 but was moved there about midway through the season where his numbers picked up.
