They don't appear to be - but that's no guarantee. It's one of the reasons we should wait. Plenty of KPF generational talent has come in picks 3 - 10. I'm pretty confident we will have high picks for the next few seasons. We absolutely need to try and find a "generational KPF". But this draft - we need to find a "generational mid".

The game against Collingwood Resies - it's only one game but a super important one. A "generational KPF" is way more likely to be able to dominant in this game. It's harder for KPFs because strength and size is more important to their role, so it's harder for them to dominate against bigger bodies. But this game was a bit of an alarm bell for me - both big dogs were completely ineffective.

So if we jump the Roos (which I think we do) and wardlaw is gone - who do you take? (not criticising just curious as I’ve not seen much of these guys)

We had Naitanui, Hickey and Vardy at the time.

Cameron wouldn't have survived as long on our list with those 3 ahead of him.

He's only really emerged this season, before that he was battling with Mason Cox for a spot backing up Grundy.

That being said if we were to get him as a free agent this year he could be a good pick up

Eli Smith and Robertson are both worth well above their trade value and are better than any young smalls on our list bar Hough and potentially Chesser and Culley.

Guys who are AFL standard and will continue to get better that are aged 20-22 are well worth picking up in trades. Brisbane also need list spots.

I have always worked on the perspective that you should use every opportunity you have to improve your list. If we were to finish last a gentlemans agreement not to bid on ashcroft plus ports second would likely secure both players and you give them 3 year contracts and just cut out more of the dead wood.

These sort of actions require deep list cuts and may even involve contracted players retiring or being traded.

Brisbane would jump at that deal . Ely Smith looks like being delisted or traded for a nothing pick .

Less value that brander who we delisted

Our 3rd or future 3rd should be enough to pick up Robertson especially if we have some sort of agreement with not bidding on ashcroft who I rate as the best mid in this draft .
 
Rumour alert. Mitch Georgiades is home sick and the Eagles are all over it and wants to play for the club.

Would be ok with this. Provide we draft mids woth 1 and 19

1. It depends on talent. At the moment I'm bullish on Ashcroft and Warlord and not much else. I like Sheezle, but not going to spend a top 5 on a small forward. It depends who come through in the under 18 champs.

2. If it's not a top 2 pick, I'm ok with a KPF. As long as there isn't a better rated mid. We going to have a few more opportunities to grab that top 10 (or even top 5) KPF.

Yeah, I think we need to ready ourselves for picking at 3 after Ashcroft and Warlord are gone sadly. Hopefully there is a bolter.

Jhye Clark for Geelong Falcons has been really good.

Performed well in the Colgate Challenge v Pies reserves game too.

I’d be all over this but port would want 19 and then good amount more

Give them their own second round pick.....

Would obviously cost more but I like the idea anyway.

Id rather not trafe any picks to Port for Georgiades.

Nothing against Port or the kid but we need these picks.

Maybe see if Port will take their 2nd rounder back for him and they can go the tank for the 2nd half of the year to make it worthwhile
