What's tom scully's potential lilke, can he be a max king?

I'm actually warming to paring Allen with a 204 forward. Yes we need a mid, but KP players win flags.

I wouldn't mind the Eagles going after Darcy Cameron... He's from WA, may be a bit older than you'd like at 26 but can step in and lead the ruck now, tap work is good, he's great around the ground with a good tank and is good up forward too. He's out of contract and behind Grundy when he gets back from injury so would probably jump at a move knowing Nic Nat probably only has a year left before lead ruck duties are his.

We could have got him for basically nothing from Sydney but we didnt seem to be interested at all (or at least never reported as interested). Sums up our recruiting really. No real insight.

Not true. Show me a team that won a flag without a top 4 midfield. Off the top of my head I can show you 3 teams that won flag with only 1 or even 0 top tier KPFs. West Coast 92, 94 (Sumich and Langdon) and 06 (Lynch and Hansen).

We do need a dominant KPF to partner OA but why would you spend a top 2 pick? Have you not seen the numbers, or do you think we won't have other top 5 pick over the next 2 years?

Also consider the u18s game against Collingwood. Neither Lemmy or Scully dominated. That's a concern. I suspect they'll be dom in u18s carnival but against bigger bodies they couldn't do it. Why wouldn't you wait another year and see if there is that out and out superstar who can play against men next year?

94 was Sumich and Ball, but yes, proves your point.
Yep, but that's not saying a Max King wouldn't go a long long way. We need to look for this player, just not this draft. If you have a top 2 pick you have to go for the best mid available - unless there's someone who is so far in front (like Reiwoldt who dominated against men). No matter how dominant Lemmy and Scully are in the u18 champs, we have to go for the best mid.

Hmmm

If we finish third last above North and Dons and Ashfort goes one, assuming dons and north take mids. Are there 4 A grade mids in this draft?

1. I don't know. It's early days but so far Warlord and Ashcroft are a cut above. I suspect the answer is no.
2. If it's the case that we have pick #4, I have no problem picking a KPF (just not with top 2)
3. I cannot see us winning 2 more games than Essendon.
