Don't rate Barrass as A grade?

I doubt Chump Change consider Barrass as elite A grade as he was only taken with pick 43 and you only get elite A grade talent with top 4 picks

CC also says never spend a top 10 pick on a defender

Yeah agree 100% this. Our back ups list are the problem that need fixing first

Yep. Definitely expect solid improvement if we can get some continuity, especially with our middle-aged players like Sheed, Yeo, Cole and Allen

However, I think ppl are forgetting how far off it we are this year. Having a year like Adelaide, Hawthorn (or even GWS) would be a strong improvement but that would still likely leave us with a top 4 pick

Someone said it before - it's our midfield. It just doesn't cut it.

Running some quick numbers. If North lose their next two games 75v80 we would need to lose both games approx 40v120 to finish below them

It's not impossible but I won't be cheering for it. Also they are an outside chance to win one. Much easier opposition than ours

Sounds like you're from the "buy high, sell low school". Also sounds like you're emotional - as in emotionally attached because he is an Eagles player.

To build a flag side you need elite midfielders. Elite KPD's can be found in plenty of places. 2nd round. 3rd round. Trade Bussy in a couple of years time etc.

Elite mids who can compete with Walsh, Oliver, Brayshaw etc don't grow on trees. They are hard to find.

I'd rather Warlord and Phillpou than Warlord and Barrass.

I think he'll be captain next year but I'd be happy for Gov to stand in until another option presented.

Defenders that can read the play aswell as Barrass are not easy to get. Barrass is a beast. Keep ya pick 3. Not a chance we would give up Barrass especially on a weak draft like this years one.

I just found it funny you're talking about delisting 9+ players in one hit and all we need to do is replace them with "better" players this offseason.

If you say that JK and Shep will be replaced with picks 2 and 19 (or 1 and 18, or whatever), I'm not sure what the odds will be of replacing the other 9+ with better players given the draft picks we'd be using. Most likely you'll be replacing one potato with another.

They don’t even have pick 3, and they have no way to get it. The suggestion that the clubs collude to make Barrass a free agent when he’s not, and won’t be for a long time, isn’t going to fly with the AFL.

This suggestion’s already had way more consideration than it warranted.

Ah ok. Haha it does sound strange but looking at our depth there not much else we can do with them. I don't see improvement in any of them. Whats the max amount of players can we select in the pre season rookie draft.

That's not quite correct. They need one now as they feel they can get back to the flag window. They don't have time to develop someone.

There's a lot of top shelf KPD that were taken in the 20s. Then Gov and Grimes were taken way back. Compare that to where all the elite midfielders were drafted from.

We need elite mids. Elite KPDs aren't as hard to come by and they don't cost as much if you need to trade them in.

It’ll be very difficult for them to make up the percentage if they don’t jag a win in the last two games.

Bear in mind they’ve been outscored by an average of 9 goals a game since they beat us in round 2. And that’s including a couple of close losses and a win.

I don't think it possible for North to make up the %.
But it is easily within our lunchbox of tricks to lose enough % to drop to last.

I see North (if they don't sneak a win, most likely at home vs. a season over GCS) losing their two games by 20-30 points each, say 50 overall.
Can we lose our two matches by a combined 190 odd points?
It's a big ask, but MDMA stadium is such a graveyard, 100-120 would not surprise there. And a 10-12 goal loss to Freo? Probably expecting at least that tbh.
