Interesting that Essendon delisted mature-age midfielder Garrett McDonagh just one year after taking him in the National Draft.

Similar situation to Clark (although I don’t think McDonagh ever debuted) - mature age draftees may not have gotten the standard two-year contract.
Is there a club statement saying that they are commited to redrafting him in the rookie draft?

No. Just that the three players would not be having their contracts renewed

Tsatas a better ball user? I’ve heard one of the knocks on him is his disposal, especially on the run. I haven’t seen any extended vision of him though so I’m relying on others who have. Sheezel’s disposal looks elite.
Thought sheezel was more of a medium forward. Don’t think that’s a pressing need for us at this stage of a rebuild

It is a little hard to expect a higher pick for a player that cannot get in the team. If it was a 2021 draftee, fine.

Deven was drafted in 2019 so has had 3 years on the list. When Mathieson gets games ahead of Robertson, you cannot expect anything but a negative return on the initial investment. He was captain of the team that Warner, Jackson, Rivers, Sharp, etc. I suggest your club has wasted a good resource. Rivers and Jackson have premiership medallions, Jackson and Warner are in the best 22 under 22 team, .......

Robertson has 22 games of which I suspect a high portion are as a sub.

He is contracted and the Lion's want him to stay.

So if they dont get something fair he stays. Just like Papley and Dunkley.

Are you guessing or have inside intel that makes you believe?

Do you really believe the Suns holding 2 first rounders in what is seen as a strong draft year will not be valuable? They will have masses of point when the auction their picks off in 2023.

They will have multiple offers for a top 10 pick in 2023.

My contact from Qld reckons they are wanting Heppell as a FA and then only 2 pointy end picks, once of which will be Oliver Hollands with a mid teens pick. That leaves one pick and they more interested in banking for next year than trade up to a pointy end as the talent does not warrant it this year for their list build. They are having trouble playing all the young talent they have at the club as it stands.

With Rankin asking to go Sheezle would be a nice replacement.

Hollands a bit later, their 7 will turn into 8. A bit early.

I think Trev remembers Bell and his feathers lingering like a fart in an elevator when we were negotiating with Geelong to bring Kelly across

Consider this payback

If Jackson sees himself as a number 1 ruck, then we are the logical club to choose. Plus you'd imagine we'll have the superior salary cap space to offer him more in the near future.

I honestly think the best football decision for Jackson is to stay at Melbourne.

If he wants to come back to WA, however it depends on what he sees himself as. A forward/ruck go to Freo but if he wants to be a no. 1 ruck then West Coast would be a better option

We’re the least likely to have any success in the short to medium term though
