If he wants to come back he's worth looking at.

Worth a shot for sure. Swap for Ainsworth? Someone tell Wells that Garry Lyon has placed big wraps on the kid.... Was taken 4 places higher in the same draft too...
Surely it would be an upgrade for Geelong as Constable went after Ainsworth in the draft meaning Wells wins!

There's clearly a big gap between what AFL types think of Constable and what Bigfooty thinks of him.

So far he has:
  • Been drafted relatively late
  • Not played much for Geelong
  • Been told to look elsewhere by Geelong

That's hardly evidence of a gun player.
Don’t think a gun but what you give up for him this year would probably be less chance of being a gun. Watched closely and an upgrade on anything we have as a mid option outside of our ‘best 22’ Mids

Well good thing we didn't waste our closest available pick on him and miss out on the prodigious talent that we picked up at 32.

I’ve never really seen the attraction with Constable. Always got Brant Colledge and Matt Allen vibes from him. He’s a midfielder who has the build of a key forward and ... that’s about it?

Not particularly fast, not particularly strong, not particularly dynamic. He’s a decent midfielder and could be part of a solid rotation. But I wouldn’t be overpaying for him.

He falls under the BigFooty overrating system of tall midfielder = good midfielder

I always saw him as a Josh Kennedy (sydney) type and was willing to part with pick 13 for him at the draft. Still highly rate the kid.

A team that really needs to increase their midfield stocks is offloading a midfielder and for some reason we think it's a good idea? Constable is a no from me.

Sounds like Josh Kennedy ( Sydney variety ) or Jobe Watson.

Curious to know how much of the Under 18's Championship in 2017 and TAC Cup games, did either of you guys watch.

Agree would not pay overs but, he will get a good offer from another Melbourne based side and will be give a chance to show .... if ..... or if not .... he is up to it.

Fret not we don't have a snowballs chance in hell of luring him West, so you need not worry about us paying overs for him. :thumbsu:

To add as well Geelong are good at developing midfielders but are willing to pack young Charlie off ..

How much of his champs or TAC Cup did I watch? Zero, give or take :D

Just going off what I remember of his draft highlights videos three years ago and what I’ve seen at Geelong.

There seems to be a bit of a spectrum of big-bodied mids who can’t get a game at their first club, with Josh Kennedy at one end and Jarrod Jansen at the other. Constable is obviously somewhere in between, but hopefully closer to Kennedy’s end.

Miguel I watched him closely in the championships and it was his footy IQ that I was attracted to.
He knows where to be and with ball in hands he found his team mates.

He is not overly athletic, nor is he quick.
But as a junior one thing he did consistently well, was win the clearances and then link up mostly by hand with team mates on the outside.
Also has a very accurate foot.

His lack of pace is IMO why Geelong are moving him on, they are a slow side themselves and need to improve in that area, thats why they are all most certain to land Missy Higgins and are aggressively chasing Issac Smith.

List spots at Geelong are very tight and there will be casualties in the move to land Cameron, Higgins and Smith.

I think CC will end up at Hawthorn who chased him hard last year, to no avail.

I think he will end up playing a bit like another former Hawk: Brad Sewell.
