Again you are missing the point. A lot of people are going to be unemployed. I have friends who have already lost jobs. People’s freedom to do as they like has been stripped away from them in an instant as well. We look headed for a recession. That is going to destroy many peoples savings. This isn’t just some minor occurrence.

Find me one credible source that says we’re going to have a vaccine for everyone ready by October. That is a ridiculous prediction.

There is something called budgeting. Seriously people save some of your earnings. I hope everyone has a job at the end of this though.

I just heard the CEO's of all the clubs are having another tele-conference tonight so no news until late tonight or tomorrow morning.. just radio info it could be wrong.

Tier 1 is the underlying cause of all that has come since, you couldn't buy toilet paper from early February around here because of you nut cases.

What bullshit. I started sending care packages to loved ones in China back in January because they desperately needed certain items and were locked down. There was plenty of food and toiletries available when I was making gradual preparations for what I knew was coming, so nothing to do with me.

I get it. You got caught sitting on your hands and are looking for someone to blame. Surely you have a mirror somewhere in your house?

I'm looking forward to Gil's presser during the half time break of tomorrow's match informing us that they're close to reaching a decision.

So play one game (without any crowd mind you) and that's enough for clubs not to refund memberships

May be members need to suck it up and be happy that their money is keeping their club afloat in these uncertain times
That is going to be great when half the country is unemployed in a months time, at least the club survived.

Leaders need to be decisive.

How can we be nearly 24 hours from the opening game, and still not know whether it's going ahead or not?

There is only one feasible position - suspend the season until we come out the other side of the virus.

If it eventuates that the season ends up being cancelled, so be it.

Friggin debacle.

Gil needs to say, we can't take any notice of Sco Mo, we are playing and let them try and stop us!!!

I agree.

A lot are dying, but people dying is a part of life.

People need to get a perspective.

Without football why live??

Even a doctor I spent time talking to said most of the health spend is on peoples that will die within 12 month anyway

there has been only one death below 40 hasn't there globally?
Italy has had 2, dont know about anywhere else, although I would be staggered if China didn't have a bunch.

Majority of them are in the 50 - 90+ bracket.

People on here will try to imply this means everybody thats going to die is like 80, and at deaths door anyway. Not true.

Age and co-morbidity are significant factors. The problem is, people are either not taking into account how many people have these factors, including the young, or they just do not give a **** (I honestly think its both, they dont know, and they dont know because they do not give a ****).

There are a great many healthy looking people walking around that have significant health issues that put them at significant risk, and there is no realistic way to protect them if the disease is rampant in the community.

So, if you care at all about the 100s of thousands of people, besides the very elderly, who are at risk from this disease, then its hard to see this as an over reaction. If you dont, the fuss is very confusing, 'all this over the flu'?

I am so friggin happy that we dont have Gill running our country, the guy would not know how to organise himself to a press conference let alone make a call on whether a tax needed to be implented or not. What an absolute debacle today has being from Gill
If he was running the country and there was a tax to be implemented (i.e revenue for his organization), he would have put out a press release in haste before any conference.

Haven’t they? OK then;

Cheers
Had missed that. Knew they raced on Saturday. Must have been a late call.
In Australia we’ve been racing to closed audiences but prob only a matter of time

Sydney has prob its biggest meeting of the year Saturday with the slipper. At this stage going ahead albeit behind closed doors

You'd think they were deciding the fate of the world the way this decision is dragging on.

On thursday/friday when this thing really went crazy I thought let's give the AFL the weekend to get their ducks in a row and we'll have an announcement on monday. Now we are going to get the teams before we know if there's actually a match on.

You struggle with the basic ability to read do you? I said in my post I am always prepared
I'll label myself Tier 4, I am always prepared to live 2 weeks at a time without going to the shops because I hate it with a passion and I am still calling Tier 1 + 2 doomsday morons.

I'm perfectly happy for my 2020 membership to be treated as a donation but my tier only costs around $350 and I haven't been made redundant...

Then again, with the doofus we do have running the show, would it be any worse?
