Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

i wonder if carlton will trade hampson to gc 17 for draft pick then use that pick for trengove that way u get to keep jacobs who seems to be a better ruck option

Trengove is out of contract at the season’s end but is hoping to stay at Alberton beyond 2010 and repay the club for the faith it showed in him on draft day.

“I couldn’t have asked for anymore from this club. The medical staff have been great with me and getting me back out onto the track. Without them I honestly couldn’t see myself where I am today, playing AFL footy,” he said.

“We’ll see what [football manager] Peter Rohde says, but hopefully they’ll want me to stay.

Don't know much about M Brown. So I've just been on the West Coast board, where handily they have a thread discussing him and their other KP stocks. They seem to think he is best as a 3rd tall KPD, we all ready have Moore and McGuane who suit that role. If he's not up to being a genuine CHB then I'm not intrested.

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

In fairness though,

This is a pretty stock standard response - the type that you would expect your players to recite to show short term commitment.

It's no different to Mitch Farmer last season:

http://messenger-news.whereilive.com.au/sport/story/farmer-playing-for-his-career/

The 20-year-old is out of contact with the Power at the end of the year and is desperate to remain with the club.

``I definitely want to stay at Port,’’ he said.

``It’s a great club and there’s a lot of guys coming through together.

.. or the Chris Judd interview in 2007 with Shane Crawford:

http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/common/story_page/0,8033,21877409%5E19742,00.html

SC: Hypothetically if you moved back to Melbourne, where would you live? Would you live where you grew up, move towards Toorak or perhaps move out with Kath and Kim to Fountain Gate?
CJ: No, the only place I'd like to live next year is Claremont, I reckon.

It's a PR thing.

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

Of the names mentioned I think Vezpremi and Trengove are the ones I'd be interested in securing.

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

I'd pitch it to the players along the lines of Newman being an unfortunate sacrifice to end an unfortunate era and set us up for one where we're not forced to make similar decisions, but I would also be pointing out that in the new club mentality we're building, only players who work their arses off every game, every year, deserve any kind of privilege of immunity from the harsh realities of AFL in the current era.

Yes! So Tambling, after stringing together another 10 x 10-20 possession, ineffectual, uninspiring, games in the latter half of this year must be put on the trade table.
It's taken Martin, Nason, and even Astbury less than 10 games to show me more promise (vs. Potential) than Bling has.

I really do rate McGuane (and he does put his heart, soul and nuts on the line every week) but can certainly accept that he is not untouchable and is the sort of player that could be good to trade to GC. Thurstfield, and Morore, are in the same category for me.... especially if Goo or Dea comes on.

Polo can definitely go, as can White, and maybe GC would be intersted in them for something? Anything?

Newman I think is just a bit above avg player.... but at his age, unless we can get something decent, we may as well keep him.
The idea of Jack as Captain (forget who mentioned that?) is a great one. Then again, Cotch also stands out.

Actually starting to like the look of the developing list.... with anticipation of another 8-10 new faces and players like Contin, Taylor, Westhoff still in the wings and a chance to shine.

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

Are people too blind to see he's not playing Terry Toweling's gameplan where he can waltz around and get 25 possessions anywhere on the park he likes and is actually playing a different role under Hardwick gmaeplan that is beyond the Supercoach/dream team nerds that the number of possessions is the be all and end all to playing your role?

Not to mention Compartment Syndrome surgery isn't something to roll your eyes at in terms of recovery.

In other words, give Bling a ****ing break for a change!

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

Lets ruffle the AFL feathers and get the tigers on the map. If we are going to spend the bucks and want bang for our buck across the board there can be only one candidate to chase. GREG INGLIS...Stick him at CHF and he will do the rest. ;)

100% agree. His game while not 30 touches and 120 DT points last week was awesome. He impacted 3-4 plays which turned into goals. This guy is not fit atm but is playing his role on the forward line....let him play out the year there and then get a big pre season under his belt and then you will see the form he generated in the latter part of last year.

Still he is playing his role and obviously keeping Damien happy.

I can appreciate your point of view. Mine was similar for the last 3-4 years.
I can also see the validity of the different role under DH argument, but also could see that as just another in a long line of excuses for him.

I guess I've just seen the hardness of Martin and attack of Nason, and even McGuane, Thirstfield, King, and that is more what I, personally, appreciate in players.
We all have our whipping boys and I guess mine is Tambling these days.... just frustrated after a fair degree of waiting. Certainly not the worst on this list, but to me, very limited in the roles he can play and the steel and influence on games he exerts.
From all reports he is an absolute gem of a human being, has helped our other indigenous players, and wants to help RFC... personally, I just don't see it happening, and I think he does have trade value.

And IMO, if he isn't fit, he should not be playing.... so that is just not a decent excuse for me.

Maybe a BOG against the Aints tonight, with 8 tackles, folowed by 6 other browlow votes during the remainder of the season, will change my mind. I hope so. Richie... can you put together a 9 vote season ?

*Bump*

Caught up with my Richmond contact yesterday - mentioned another name that Richmond had been in contact with: Melbourne's Addam Maric.

Make of that what you will.

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

Interesting.

Don't know much about him....is he a ruckman?
No!!!!!!!!!!

Small forward, long kick, can't get a game at Melbourne and has hardly played for the last 3 years. We wanted him in his draft year but he seriously has not come on. School mate with Cotch (as was Trengove, appears we're pillaging PEGS). Inflated ego, limited on field impact, injury problems, doesn't fill a list need. I'd be outraged if we traded any pick for him, especially seeing the talent we got with out last 2 picks last year.

Mad Richmond supporter I believe, or was before he went to Melbourne.

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

177cm , do we need another small?

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

i say we draft instead of trade, more reiwoldt and nasons

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

Don't know much about him but prefer the rumor that we are into Vezpremi....either way it is obvious that we are looking into classy half forward types....

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

He was drafted by Craig Cameron. Perhaps this is where the connection is coming from.

I thought he would be a player in his first year however he just hasn't come on. His VFL performances whilst being ok aren't outstanding. Seriously doubt you guys will go after him, you've already got a gun small forward in Nason.

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

Apparently does not mind partying and hititng the piss.....not really interested in this sort of player.
