Question????
Does playing this game mean both Adelaide and Fremantle won't play any trial on the weekend prior to the first week of round 1 unless one playoff in the NAB Cup Grand Final?

he Crows have recalled stars Patrick Dangerfield, Taylor Walker, Rory Sloane, Nathan van Berlo and Bernie Vince for Saturday’s trial game against Fremantle at AAMI Stadium.
Vince will make his return from post-season shoulder surgery, while Dangerfield, Walker, Sloane and van Berlo will all play their first minutes of the year after sitting out round one of the NAB Cup.
Draftee Rory Atkins has also been selected in the squad of 30, and is in line to make his Crows debut against Freo. A skilful left-footer, Atkins was selected with pick No.81 in the 2012 AFL National Draft.
Missing from the team(s) that played last weekend are David Mackay, Richard Douglas, Graham Johncock and Brodie Smith, who will miss eight weeks with a fractured collarbone.
Brent Reilly, Ben Rutten and Sam Jacobs will watch from the sidelines again as the Club continues to manage the pre-season workloads of its more experienced players. Jared Petrenko (shoulder), Sam Shaw (knee) and Nick Joyce (groin) are all nearing a return from injury, but won’t be risked in the trial game.
Must admit still a little surprised those 4 were being risked in an exhibition game against Freo?Mackay, Douglas & Johncock all rested this week, taking their turn to be rotated out of the team.
So much for the trolls like EC & Carl, who insisted that their selection** (as Captain no less) was an indicator of low standing. It was just a matter of the club having a rotation policy during the early weeks of the MMC and it was their turn to play.
** Primarily referring to Pizza Boy.

Wouldn't affect a scratch match between Adelaide & Freo anyway. This game is not being played under the auspices of the MMC, so the clubs can effectively decide what rules they wish to play by. It will, however, affect team selections for the subsequent 2 weeks, when we return to MMC action.rules regarding the number of interchange players for the nab cup after round 1 have been changed according to twitter on the afl website.
AFL Teams can now use 3 substitutes, as well as their 3 interchange players, after Round 1 of the #NABCup. Details soon AFL.com.au
It's a ****ing trial game, no other clubs are even playing one, get the **** over it.That's becasue we are a modern club who seeks to engage its members at all times

The kids ...the keen fans who will go to a trial game only do it to see the new kids and potential starsYou need something to draw fans at 11:30 am
LOL. Really that's not necessary. How hard would it be to film the game with a couple of cameras and stream it for the country and interstate members. Richmond did it for a trial game last year from memory. If you are happy with mediocrity that's good for you but don't abuse others for having a contrary view.
More than happy for games that are not being played not to get streamed.

Fair enough, didnt realize it Would be that difficult. You need a bit of IT infrastructure behind you to do a live stream and hosting data in Aus is expensive as hell. If the AFL aren't offering their services and its a one off thing it wouldn't be worth the AFC doing.
What they should do is offer a private online channel with live streaming and historical matches at a cost.
Its not that its hard to do its just not worth doing a once off. You would need to commit for a few years to make money off of it.Fair enough, didnt realize it Would be that difficult.
So that means whoever "snots" Ballantyne will not be liable for any sanctions???

you know that would be an interesting test case, and if we get clarification early enough we might get to whack Crowley as well .
