Toast CROWS get their man Don Pyke named Adelaide coach

Whilst I'm really pleased our new coach has been named, I am also really sad to think that this puts closure on Phil's tenure. I wonder how Meredith is doing today? Thanks for everything Walshy, can't wait to see how Pykey builds and enhances your foundations.

I hope she is doing really well, I hope Quinn and Meredith have started to find some closure and they are grieving in the right way. I kind of got the impression football was Phill life, not theirs.

But I hope she hasn't given a second thought to football (not just the club but the entire sport) or the events of today and finding a positive way to wake up everyday.

A few posters have alluded to Walshy's presser at the same time last year.
I was impressed by Phil from the start and I got a good feeling about Don today.
He exudes a quiet confidence, seems to know his own mind and is keen to teach the players the Pyke way.
Really liked the way he batted down the Danger question.

Now this is interesting - he was very interested in a senior coaching role and had been for a little while, but the only process he got involved in was the Adelaide, didn't consider Essendon or Carlton. Or they didn't consider him.
would you honestly want to coach carlton? Kiss of death. And sounds like the bombers were just making a show of interviewing people who werent worsfold

Happy with Pyke, seems to be in the Walsh, Richo, Bev mould.

I didnt lose faith in sanderson when we werent winning, i lost faith in him when we werent trying.

I lost faith in him when we were winning, and almost made a GF (apparently we were only a kick away!).

This job will bring its own special challenges at first. New coaches usually take over from some-one who has been moved on for some reason - most often to the relief of the club and its fans.
Pyke is replacing a man who we were just getting to know, love and admire.
I hope we can all rally around him and give him plenty of support as he tries to establish his brand at the Crows.
