Toast CROWS get their man Don Pyke named Adelaide coach

Now this is interesting - he was very interested in a senior coaching role and had been for a little while, but the only process he got involved in was the Adelaide, didn't consider Essendon or Carlton. Or they didn't consider him.

Why would you want to go to a shit club when you could potentially drive Adelaide to great success over the next few years? He is pretty likely to be coaching a finals team next year.

That would prove he is smart and they are dumb ;)

"well done mate, great introduction" - Rucci, as Pyke walked out.

subtext: please, won't somebody like me?

he's stacked on some weight lately, hasn't he?

I love Fages! "Did that look authentic?" after the posed handshake they just did at the end of the conference. *snickers*

Love the fact that Fages knows the media is one big game.

"Did that look authentic?"

"I knew this would be a boring press conference without someone mentioning Patrick, so thanks Tom for bringing it up. Appreciate it."

That he was born here while his parents were in the States. Pretty sure they moved back at an early age. Wasn't a neighbor so I got nothing--sorry

He was born here while his parents were in the states? I would have thought that if he was born here then his mum, at the very least, would have been on hand for the occasion? :p

Great appointment, and glad that is taken care of so we can move onwards as a club once more. Once the Dangerfield issue is put to bed, I'm looking forward to having a unified club moving towards one vision of success for the first time since Walshy passed away, without any clouds hanging over our heads.

Have to admit that watching The Don sitting in the same seat as Phil was last year made me think about all the things he brought to our club that really made us a unit, like the focus on winning the ground ball or going for a morning swim, the not calling after 8pm rule, and all the other things he brought in such a short space of time that really resonated with us all. I can't lie, I did begin to get a bit emotional thinking about it, and that showdown that immediately followed. I don't think I will really ever move past it, and I just hope that this group can do the work he put in justice on the field over the next couple of years.
