Berg absolutely dominates SANFL (yet to really see that from Burgess) and has better games at AFL level than Burgess. Both are depth only, but Berg has to be ahead. Gollant isn't even in the conversation anymore.
If the role was just to be a marking target up forward Burgess might be the guy, but Himmelberg has been good today around the ground. You can really see the difference in mobility versus Burgess in particular. It's just a placeholder role but I think it's pretty clear that picking Himmelberg was the right call.

Then what is Fogarty's excuse today?

He's been involved, just never as the last option in a scoring chain.

Watching Tex gives me hope that Fog's best footy might come closer to 30.

The question will be how patient we're willing to be.

Did the shape look better that 2nd quarter? Ned got 0 disposals that whole quarter so he must’ve been conducting the shape on the ground like a grand Maestro
I reckon it was our best shape for the year.

Berg is currently the best option we have sure, and is actually decent depth. But he’s also 8 years into his career and we can put a line through him being anything more than depth. Gollant has the hardest break in our list being behind Walker, Fogarty and TT despite past reserves form warranting a first 22 gig.

In a year where we won’t be achieving anything, is the slight short term gain we get plugging in Himmelberg better than finally giving Gollant an extended run at it?

Wasn't Burgess 2x leading VFL goal kicker?

My post was more those claiming Berg is only playing well beating up on poor opposition... but Fog hasn't even been able to do this.

His form is a worry so let's hope he can have a better 2nd half.
