Black's mark was equal to anything i have ever seen before, was up there for an eternity.

Werribee were in control all day other than 10 mins in the second quarter when i think they got ahead of themselves and Westbourne capitilased.

Was a fair bit of sniping going on, (luckily for number 16, the umpire had selective vision as he fair and square hit a bloke when he was looking another way) with Westbourne again being caught out going the man rather than the ball as what happened last time. When they play the ball they dont look to bad, but Werribee made them look very ordinary.

Antonello set the scene early, was very dominant, and if Nathan Black kicked straight, werribee would have cracked the 200 point mark.

Fastuca looked good and will be better for the run, and Jeremy Wallert was a good target all day.

The two blokes that played on the Lee brothers were Westbournes only real winners. The Lees were well held, still got a little bit of it, but they were worn like gloves.

Umpires were not the greatest of all time. Westbourne probably on the end of a few rough ones. nothing that would have changed the game.

Geez, you are just waiting for someone to bite on that arent you TT?

Its the type of one-eyed comments we come to expect from you on this thread. Completely biased.

Blacky is a hog and should learn to pass, the reason he kicked 1.9 is because he continually has shots when there were others in far better positions than he.

Fact is Akka, he had 10 shots, and you blokes could not contain him. most of those were kickable. he is in the side to do those things, he is a forward, when he can take a shot he should.

Im not saying that OW went outside the rules, but they obviously tried to physically stamp themselves on the game, they tried to set that tone from the start, and i think that is why they got jumped at the start.

There were incidents in the game all day when both sides were guilty, usually 16 from Westbourne was involved. It was a hard game, and i think Westbourne couldnt keep the physical intensity up and therefore Werribee ran away with the game.

I fail to see where the bias was Akka, i named two blokes that were very impressive for OW and admitted that we got the good deal with the umps.....

I think OW are a better side that i have seen twice this year. when they move the ball they are good, They have good targets up forward and move the ball pretty well from half back. I think the physicality of the game took it out of the OW blokes and from half way through the 3rd, Werribee over ran them like witches hats.

Interesting that Westbourne cant win unless they receive the ridiculous one eyed umpiring they received against my old boys a few weeks back. I wasnt at the game but heard it was so bad that it resulted in umpires being suspended. An embarrassment of the highest order.

You are right TT, we struggled to control Yakka, but with some of his shots he completely ignored better options. I know plenty of people at Werribee who agree on this fact. He needs to pass the ball.

It didnt cost your team on the weekend because it wasn't a close game, but it may do in future. Unfortunately that is to be Blacky's last game for Werribee this year, as the Willi coach has told him he will not be allowed to play there again, or so I've heard...

Im not gonna dignify myself with a response to that, you twit..

I have heard that aswell. I think that he might prefer to play at the ammos too. So next year they might have him full time.

He did go for the sticks when he could have passed off. but had he kicked 9.1 there would not be an argument.

Half time the game was not over, wouldnt say in the balance, but the second half was a procession.

Was pretty funny to listen to some banter between the sides too.

In regard to the umpires, it would be frustrating to have come finals time and a close game, they were paying things one minute, then the same thing would happen, and a different interpretation would come out. Westbourne copped most of the bad decisions, and i could understand a few frustrations that were coming out.

I watched the second half of the reserves. i think sean dean had it 50 times. he was everywhere.

Yep the umps caused Werribee to win by 113 points. It's always the umps fault when you lose!
The game was won by a better side with the return of our full forward, centre half forward, centre half back and full back (2nd game back), while Wests had a fair few out, which wouldn't have changed the result anyway.
Werribee and ESL locked in to top two finish. Will be an interesting last game of the season as it was last year. Who will be playing ducks and drakes???

Nobody from OW has blamed the umpires for our defeat WEST, so I dont know what your on about. But your right, those 4 you mentioned were very good, especially Antonello.

West i think you'll find it was your own Table Tennis who was bagging the umpires, not westbourne people.

I think under the circumstances of the past few weeks the game was played in great spirit. A few wrestles here and there, but if you don't have that in a local derby then whats the point. No 16 was not the only bloke involved in a few incidents either (that's directed at TT) a few of your boys weren't shy in dishing out some well hidden "pack" authority. You can take my word on that one as i was on the end of one. But i got on with the game, alls fair in love and war.

Even though it was a boil over in the end it is still great to play rivals. There's a burning desire and a little more incentive for each contest right up until the final siren which otherwise may not be there when you 10 goals down.

Interesting views on the Werribee and OW game. Sounds like the margin would've stayed the same as I think both arguements (N. Black's kicking and Umpiring) cancel each other out.

Down at the Boulevard... we got out played. All credit to the boys from Ivanhoe, ran the lines and the mid-field was to strong. #35 for them had the ball on a string and if Pace had the kicking boots on in the second quarter he could have finished with 16-17 for the game, 12 is still a great day out nevertheless.

On our behalf, Sharpy did what only he can do, and we saw him back to his best. For a vetran of the game he was still a class above the rest. Unfortunately not many stood up around him and we were clearly over run.

Our prayers our now with TP not winning another game for the year and ourselves belting SMS by at least 70 points in the final round.

Are you likly to get Robbo back before the end of the year?

To akka and paddy agree with some of your comments and will take this opportunity to reply before i get barred again. On yakka i did hear the coach give him a spray and take him off the ground for his selective vision.I think the willi play for yourself to get a game comes out but we are trying to adress that. Did see hutton and connors having shots from the canteen when there were players in much better positions. Nothing much said about that from your end. And agree went there looking for plenty of fireworks but thought the game was played in great spirit and i do think the players have great respect for each other as there are alot of freindships there off the ground. In finishing you guys were plying for your season so i wud presume you were ready for the game of your life and they just blew you apart. Give credit were credit due they are a well drilled unit.

Drifter, are you still composing our best 22, as I reckon a couple of players that wouldn't made it at start of season would definately make the squad now!

For obvious reasons as discussed last week - I have had to back down and not post your best 22 on the thread.

We play you 2 more times minimum and I'd hate the legendary Norton to make adjustments based on an internet forum....

On to our game with the Raiders - the green and purple lads kept at it all day and are heading in the right direction in my opinion.

Nice big ground to stretch our legs on - possible good prectice for the finals.

We are happy to get the 4 points with OP strengthened by Boundy and a buoyed by a recent home streak always going to be a challenging afternoon.

Plus clearly Werribee, Banyule and Ivanhoe made some massive statements on the weekend - prob the 3 fav for the flag in that order,:D

pity i missed this game saturday as it sounds like it was a free for all shootout - pace 12 sharp 10... no backmen required!

even through ivanhoe kicked 31 we still managed to kick 18 which is a top effort... our 'never give up' attitude coming to the fore yet again.

did ivanhoe wear their traditional strip?

Again props for you enthusiasm LFK - did your TOTY full back play on Pace???

Its making my team of the year selection difficult:thumbsu:

So I can assume that you guys won't turn up at soldiers last round as you don't want to give anything away.
Might as well forfeit the round and go in refreshed for the following week. I know I'll be a monty to get a guernsey to play that day, injured or not.

Think I might have jumped on that Bandwagon a little bit to early... getting ahead of myself. But nevertheless Pace only managed to kick 3-4 on him out of the 12. So not to bad of an effort.

Thats good Akka Dakka - very good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fair to say Pace was way too Big and Strong for the Dees First FB.
LFK who is this FB in your team of the year?? The Boys from the Boulevard really proved they are a threat come finals time.
Some big changes need to be made down in ur nek of the woods left foot if ur to avoid the trip to D3....all credit to ivenhoe, but u had way too many passangers and didnt looks like u were prepared to run and support.
I noticed in the first game ( reserves ) you had two "pretty boys" that were undoubtably keeping u guys in the game...A HB..maybee #56 whos relentless attack on the ball and fierce tackling was outstanding and a silky small FF #10 i think who looked to be the game winner...great off both feet and quik......why on earth rnt those two playing ones football....ur club needs to have a good hard look at themselves!!
all the best tho...maybee u can come and watch us in september :)

Close, but no cigar. At least several players you have missed out on. Amazes me the amount of discussion about us and nothing on ESL
Akka do you have ESL's team sheets and give your thoughts on ESL's best 22 or anyone else, since we might as well talk about finals
