Will this incident hasten Bentleigh's departure from the VAFA? The jungle drums are beating louder and louder....

I know it's the Seniors that counts, but with Bentleigh's "no man's land" situation, I'd expect them to use the last three weeks of the year to qualify as many players as possible for the Reserves and at least get something out of the year. Not exactly in "the spirit", but the rules are in place to allow them to i guess. So let's focus on that-
Bentleigh v ESL
Thanks to the early season draw between these 2 teams, this game is now worth jack-sh*t to either club... as they're both now out of relegation but similarly both 1.5 games out of the 4 with 3 to go.
The losers will put their cue in the rack and start plotting for next year. The winners might have the faintest of sniffs for September action...but probably not.
I beg to differ. I think they are that bad a team. Not sure about the club as a whole, but to be relegated from D1 last year ( and should have been the year before, but were saved by Peninsula's indiscretion), and now facing relegation from D2 a year later, it's safe to say they aren't much chop. They're too good a team/club to do the double drop (D1 to D3 in 2 years),

Tend to agree, but SFL has a void left by Doveton Eagles............ Another upside is that there is no issue paying playersI am going to go with no on this one given that it was a Bentleigh player that suffered the injury.

On that basis, I would like to formally wish the Bentleigh AFC all the best of luck with their all out assault on the Ressies flag for this year then
BTW -how many Reserves premierships in a row do they need to winin order to get promotion to D1?
Notice their is no official note of the incident on the vafa website or any mention for a tribunal appearance....... Does that mean unless Bentleigh have asked for an ivestigation the issue is put to bed?

Investigations don't take place until the week after as all parties must be notified. Player will be free to play this week but if an investigation takes place then it will be next tuesday night.
I have heard similar rumour with Bentleigh into SFL Div 2 & Parkdale into SFL Div 1I know that it was a Bentleigh player that was injured. The point I was trying to make is that if rumours are correct, the BFC heirachy are disillusioned with the VAFA and their poor administration and are still in talks with the SFL.
I don't think there would be an issue with playing players. Are you saying that your current playing group would leave or ask for money if they were in the SFL next year? Why are they playing at the club in the first place then? It would be a bigger issue if you were going the other way (SFL to VAFA) and can no longer pay your players.
Not all SFL clubs pay their players (some pay just 2-3 as well). I think that Bentleigh with their junior program would be competitive in Div 2 SFL and within a few years of added income (bar sales etc) would be in a good position to make the step into Div 1 (where you probably have to spend a bit to stay up...depending on the success of your junior development).
SMS no doubt with win this week...massive support a surprise. Not sure if anyone has noticed, but today's/this week's VAFA poll on the website poses the question: "Three rounds to go and Eltham, St Mary's Salesian and Prahran are fighting to stay up. One of the three clubs will survive? Which one?.
Massive support for SMS.
Who said the VAFA didn't care what's happening in D2?
WTF?
Don't tell me a D1 relegation team is about to fold?
I know South Districts have had a tuff year, but they're already advertising for a new coach.
Or is there a 'Peninsula' type scandal about to explode
...or is it someone already in D2 who won't be continuing?
