I know all of you had been waiting patiently for Quasi's Crystal Ball for 08' so here it 'Tis.

Ladder after 18 Rounds:

St Johns (Will not lose at home)
Eltham (Surprise packet of the year)
Williamstown CYMS (Will appreciate the drop in class)
Elsternwick (All depends on the extent of their injuries)
-----------------------
Hawthorn (Are they ever going to sack Barrel?)
Monash Gryphons (Will improve slightly)
Latrobe (On the slide)
Powerhouse (These guys are the Aston Villa of D3!)
UHS-VU (Sorry Boycey!)
Swinburne (D4 Bound)

Premier: Williamstown (Joc's to choke in GF!)

The early games will dictate which clubs have had a solid pre-season and/or who have been able to train on their respective grounds.

Round 1 tips: (see if I can beat Waferknuckles?)

Willy to account for the House by a comfortable 53 points
Eltham to give Latrobe a football lesson - 38 point victory.
Hawthorn to bring Uni High back to earth winning by 85.
The Wicks over Swinny in a canter - Let's say 45 points
Joc's over the Gryphs in Match of the Day by 15 points.

Good luck to all teams

Quasi
Fantastically lucky start to the season in tipping five out of five! Only problem is Waferknuckles managed to do so as well, so it can't have been that hard!

Round 2 looks a beaut (almost every game a toss up)

Uni High over Latrobe by 6 (No confidence here)
Hawthorn over Monash by 3 (Monash continue to lose the close ones)
Eltham over Swinny by 46 (Lock of the week)
Willy over Wicks by 11 (Depends who kicks accurately)
St Johns over Powerhouse by 16 (Eddo vs Cachia)

A feast in April! Love it...

Well gents 5 from 5. Clearly my mail holds up in this D3 world.

No surprises on the weekend. Hawks over Uni in an absolute canter. Word has it several players were seen in the Bison enclosure (melb zoo) post 11pm sat night. Large reefers were being passed and crisis avoidence was being discussed. The only thing high at uni currently is the players. All i can say boys is welcome to the BIG SHOW.

Unfortuantly Wafer has been struck down with a severe flu this week due to late night appearances at several melbourne hotspots during the weekend. His tips shall be delayed till Friday.

Wafer08.

Typical comments from a Willy supporter and although I agree house were taller, this was one of their problems last year, a lot of talls no ball gatherers, by the way football is remarkable, because smaller opponents can actually outmark talls, lot of speccie takers at Willy. Not denying your full back was good, but holding, jumper pulling is still a free kick, or are we watching soccer. maybe Willy have been better drilled, who knows, all I am saying is they are no Westbourne.

Re: Season Odds After Round 1

Team Name: Premership Promotion Top 4 Relegation Spoon
1 Williamstown 2.80 1.30 1.10 21.00 41.00
2 Elsternwick 4.00 2.50 1.40 16.00 36.00
3 St. Johns 6.00 3.00 1.40 16.00 36.00
4 Hawthorn 9.00 4.50 2.20 12.00 26.00
5 Monash Gryphons 16.00 7.00 2.80 5.00 13.00
6 Eltham OC 16.00 7.00 2.60 5.00 13.00
7 Powerhouse 18.00 9.00 2.40 3.80 8.00
8 La Trobe 31.00 14.00 2.90 3.00 3.60
9 UHS-VU 31.00 14.00 3.60 2.20 3.40
10 Swinburne Uni 41.00 18.00 3.60 2.00 3.00

Some interesting results this week, especially the complete failure of La Trobe against Eltham. Are Eltham that good or La Trobe that bad? The result the week before by La Trobe losing to middle of the road D4 club Richmond has me worried about their prospects for the remainder of 08.

The other promoted team, UHS-VU failed to fire and will need to improve after losing to Hawthorn

Willy beat the House as expected, so no great movement there

The Gryphons have come in and St John's drifted despite the result going the other way. A better showing than most though the students capable of and if reports are true that JOC's have no full time ruckman, it will be a huge loss.

A good showing by the Wicks beating Swinburne away a good result for them, every away win counts
After watching the wicks last weekend i'd be putting my hard on earned on them being relegated, especially with those odds. If they are second to Willy for the flag then i overestimated the standard of D3.

I little birdy tells me that a key member of the Power House side in the form of a certain senior rover is back to add some ball winning skills to the onball division.

Vege, mite you know who he is?

Last I heard from the House, Edwards was training at Williamstown, Old Scotch, Yarraville, Therry and Collingwood...but every week he turns up in the goalsquare for the House. Go figure???

Cachia to prove a handfull for the House defence and Eddo to kick a bag. The forwards will cancel themselves out. The game will be won on the ball. Too hard to pick.

Elsternwick to get smashed by the blue and gold. Old legs will get beaten by young legs. Small ground, small skill.

How far the Turtles against a struggling Swinburne...How far do they have to travel?

Hawks to remain undefeated over the Indian Monash squad. The Hawks coach just keeps reinventing himself and his team but has failed badly in their last 2 years finals encounters.

Monash will need a minor miracle because half of their squad will be up watching their idol Sachin in the IPL tonight!

Big Dan Lauletta has been on the Angelo Pace diet over the summer. The guy now has his own postcode. Keep those pies away from him, he has a habit of leaning over the fence and grabbing a bite during a game.

Speaking of leaning over, Boyces boys from Uni High will be in that comfortable position during their match against Latrobe.

Interesting test for the Willy boys this week...a few injuries from last week, and playing away from home. Tough early test.
Also interested to see how the House bounce back, and what happens with Latrobe tomorrow.

Wafer round 2.

Chosen12 i heard u were considered one of the most unpopular guys in your suburb of residence. Why is this?

La trobe Uni 35
Monash 26
Eltham plenty
Willy by 33
St Johns to sneak home

Wafer 08

bit quiet on here, any comments from the games on the wkend? eltham to strong for swinburne, they ran out of legs in the second half half on the big turtles ground...

Monash had the legs to run all over Hawthorn in the last quarter, odds of $12 at 3/4QT were being spec'd.

One now retired Gryphon from Seaford was more than happy to take that price. The same person was able to connect a 55metre bare foot thorp off one step. Yet one currrent playing Gryphon was only able to score a behind from 2 metres out (Turned out to be a handy behind that one)

It is with the deepest of regret i wish to inform that my last two posts were deemed to be unfit for the young and impressionable eyes of the D3 thread. They have since been ripped from the site as if they were the still beating heart of the purest of virgins at a satanists convention. (or umpires meeting;))

I wish to apologise to any who saw and were offended by what i thought was an extremely amusing post which had only 3 (or nine) non football related topics. In future i will be more mindful of my forked tongue.

Hisss hisss.

Premiership Odds After Round 2

Team Name: Premership Promotion Top 4 Relegation Spoon
1 Williamstown 2.30 1.10 1.10 51.00 101.00
2 Elsternwick 4.80 2.60 1.50 26.00 51.00

7 Powerhouse 16.00 13.00 2.40 6.00 21.00

9 Swinburne Uni 61.00 18.00 6.00 2.00 3.60
10 La Trobe 101.00 14.00 8.00 1.40 2.00

Incorrect information, not a rover, played centre, just training with house. By the way St Johns ruck , I think No 4 , plays like Adam Goodes , very athletic , huge leap and very dangerous around the ground. House were good all day, had one player left on the bench in the end. Will trouble a lot of sides.
