Did they leave the ground ?;)

would be keen to get some feedback on this game, injuries, how it all changed around. Old Man River - what happened?

Ivanhoe - good effort to draw with a top side - yet poor form to blow that lead.

Hawthorn - very slow start - great effort to get back.

I think to leave Hawthorns ground with two points isn't that bad. That is by far the worst ground i have ever seen! With a ground like that you have to expect high scores and game swings, probably not 69 points though!

All i can say is that i'm glad i was just watching th game not playing on the dust pile!!!!!

is quasimodo still offering the $50 on the gryphs to win 4 in a row (their next 3 now), surely the odds have been slashed. did johnnyonthespot get any cash on at the $50 odd offered. looks like its already one more win the tiges have managed in the same time-frame.

i would have thought quasimodo would be too busy with mortgage repayments to go offering silly odds on random bet types. hope the missus doesnt know about this little side bet, or it could be a quick re-sale and visit to the local trailer park in a few weeks.....

Dessie,
Quasie has taken the bet.. $50 @ 50-1. A couple more senior players back this week. Should lock in 2 in a row for the Gryphs.
Browman, still think Monash are going to be relegated?

I played in that game and i have to say it was close to the worst ground ive ever played on with pockets that were as square as a soccer ground at one end

69 points up and the ground would have been looking ok?

Please stop sqwaking about the ground and give us some real reasons why you blokes choked!

I have seen Latrobe in thier last 2 matches against Hawthorn and then against Power House and they went from one extreme ( v Hawthorn) to the other extreme (v Power House). They were really solid and committed against the boys from the Power House. Not fancy but just hard running and consistent. Nothing too flashy. And couldn't miss if they tried. They kicked only 4 or 5 points and 20+ goals in the windy conditions.

Have to say the umpiring was some of the worst I have ever ever seen. A couple of absolute clowns trying to control the game. The Power House boundary umpire was so upset, he abused them and walked off at 3/4 time saying he refused to umpire with them. It was an embarassment!

The game was held up for 5 minutes while Power House found someone else to replace him. What a joke.

If I look at the results so far this season, Power House look really good or really bad. No middle ground. Same with Latrobe. The Trobers have West Brunswick this week where they need to win while the House travel to Ivanhoe Park to test themselves against a form side.

What happened to Ivanhoe leading by almost 70 points, then lucky to draw? Any comments from anyone who saw it?

i only posted something i heard at the pub on saturday night...

i personally think the umpires are doing a good job generally this year, however i often hear of indifferent umpiring when playing the hawthorn camp..

i thought it may provoke some interesting banter on the forum..

i also didnt realise that this was a spelling bee...

We are playing in d3 so the umpires that get sent to each game aren't going to be the top liners. The lower you go in grades the worse the umpiring is.

and then some!!!!

So what was it OMR - The ground or the umpires ?

You have to be kidding. Your mob are 69 points up and then choke. For you to continue to improve I think order in some mirrors !!

I also agree with Crazybear - D3 means that the talent pool of umpires is not at it's greatest. But how about clubs just get on with it and look at where they can improve, rather than tee off on umpires who - believe it or not - are actually trying their best.

Did I get frustrated when I played - Yes. Did I go banana's from time to time about certain free kicks - yes. Did I laugh at the ones that I and my team got, when we should not have - Yes.

Does the bird with the really tight shorts still umpire in the ammo's?

She was a real ball breaker

we certainly have to respect that we are in a lower grade so get the lower standard umpires.

This being the case it seems that the umpires seem to be the ones who demand control.

I was at the wicks V OW on the weekend, and the umpires where very bad. They seemed to be sparking up both sides and used a very "in your face" type method.

From both sides it showed great control not to go silly at these two.

Consistancy i think is the key from players. The game on sat was all over the shop with one minute the older up calling holding the ball, an exact same thing happened 4 mins later and no free.

Sloppy game on weekend, but always a great match between OW and the wicks, GREAT RIVALRY!

keep up the good work lads.

and to comment on old wests game.

They blaze away, maybe the goal scorers seem to be the ones who get looked after down their but in the dying minutes no one wanted to do the team thing and just blazed away.

Do we see a selfish team down west???

maybe?

but i can see a few teams taking it right up to them this year.

Monash have a belter as do Hawthorn. Hopefully we get a few reports back from their social functions. Im sure a few of the lads wouldnt mind having a crack after a couple of beers........
