Can I add 5 to my total of 57 for the year (I know you all really care)? Anyway, here are my tips

Hawks to beat Gryphs by 26 points (monash to lose but be safe for 2008)
Hoes to beat Trobes by 3 points (who cares? I doubt even they do)
Wicks to beat Pigs by 43 points (hitting form at right time of year, but fractionally late)
The House to beat Kew by 22 points (can Eddo kick 15 and Pace 0 for Eddo to win the goal kicking?)
OW to beat WB by 60 points (just priming themselves now)

Good luck to all

Oh, and what's the story with the goss about only 1 team going down/a new team in D4? Does that mean only 1 would come up or 11 in D3 next year? Anyone care to explain?? Cheers

Hi ETE,

Hawks to beat Gryphs by 26 points (monash to lose but be safe for 2008)
Agreed

Hoes to beat Trobes by 3 points (who cares? I doubt even they do)
Agreed Hoes by 14 points - Pace to kick a few - both teams looking forward to next week you would think.

Wicks to beat Pigs by 43 points (hitting form at right time of year, but fractionally late)
Agreed - but by 35 points

The House to beat Kew by 22 points (can Eddo kick 15 and Pace 0 for Eddo to win the goal kicking?)
Agreed - but by a closer margin 6 points - and Eddoooo!!! won't kick enough to catch Pace - even though I think the House will try and feed the great man at every opportunity.

OW to beat WB by 60 points (just priming themselves now)
Agreed - but about 45 points - still a couple out ( or first game back) and WB playing for their D3 life.

Good luck all

End result - at Ivanhoe I would give them a slight advantage, but I think the Students are playing better footy 'right now' ...... Flip ......Students just - 14 points.

Hoes to beat Trobes by 3 points (who cares? I doubt even they do)
Agreed Hoes by 14 points - Pace to kick a few - both teams looking forward to next week you would think.

Chimp

You're consistent with your margin, but who are you tipping?

This must be how Mr Cigarette has done his tips all year, that and including the draw!

Fair point GG - I must have been on some sort of smoke to do that. I must have been previewing my picks for the finals week?

Hoes by 14 points - this week at home ......but, next week could be a very different story.........

The answer? YES I CAN, for a total of 62/90 for the year. Congrats to OW for minor stuff, can they claim the major stuff? Congrats also to Paceoo for the goal kicking. Should be a good finals series, is evreyone still tipping an OW v the students GF after the weekend???

Well done ETE - Hummm.......... question marks abound.

Did not see any football on the weekend and would be keen to get some feedback on the various games. The results very interesting.

From what I saw, the top 4 are lucky that the Wicks didn't scrape into the finals. They were extremely impressive. They must have got a few back recently

I will second that. We (kew) have been pretty competitive over the last 5 weeks(without winning) but Elsternwick smashed us.
Congrats to Westbourne for finishing on top in both. Congrats to Pacey for winning the goal kicking.
This week's Tips

Seniors

Old West to beat Hawthorn

Ivanhoe to beat La Trobe

Ressies

Kew to beat Old west ( This might be wishful thinking after seeing westbournes results of late.)

Swinburne to Beat Hawthorn.

Good luck to all those who are playing on the weekend.

Kew to go back to back in the 2nd's. They can now focus on the real stuff which was defending their reserves flag. If your going to get demoted, you may as well win a 2nds flag....:p

Congrats to Paul Sosic and Rod Marshall for winning the senior and reserves B&F at Power House in 2007. Sos romped it in and it was a very messy night for the boys.

Westbourne to beat Ivanhoe in the granny in the ones although I wouldn't call it a certainty.

Based on the round 17 and 18 results where Power House played Westbourne and Kew, despite the fact that Power House did have a better team in round 18, I'd say that Westbourne are definitely the favourites in the 2s.

Good luck to the remaining teams. Looks like we're welcoming Williamstown and St Johns and losing West Brunswick and Kew. Good luck in getting back up to D3 next year fellas. Bouncing stright back can be done - Power House won 2 premierships last year from it!!!

Hey Vegemite,

How did Eddoooo !!! poll in the B&F ? and Taylor ?

hey all. congrats to westbourne on the minor p/ship. deserving of it. Some interesting action to come this weekend... replay of the hoes and students and OW take on hawks. Any thoughts on how these shall pan out?? Hoes were impressive on the wekend but students awful at the same time. Was it at all just a nothing game? guess will find out this week.
Just interested to see some talk about the 1's finals as they decide who is promoted and relegated. Cheers :thumbsu:

All the best to the Hoes on Sunday, I hope to get over to Bundoora to have a look. Also hope A.Pace can get his 7 this week or at least the following week Vs Hawthorn?? Good luck boys....

Agree with that. Elsternwick were certainly the most impressive side the Gryphs played in the last month. Another close Monash loss to the Hawks this weekend. A disappointing season for the unlucky Gryphons. Bring on 2008.
In the ressies Id say Swinburne were easily the best side we played. Wouldnt surprise to see them play in the GF against Kew.

but kew to win that one johnny?

Well done to Monash gryphons Captain Dan Baxter (#24) for taking out our B & F on Sunday, Steve Baxter (As D3 scribe Steve Clarke put it) had a fantastic year, and looks to have a HBF or a W spot in the D3 team of the year. Lee Wells ran second.

Brett Coxhead (#22) was a runaway winner in the Ressies

I think you can argue that Kew dont deserve to win it given their seniors finished last. Both sides will probably have senior players dropping down, but I think you are right Browman, Kew to win it and go back to back in the magoos.
hahaha win a flag and get demoted at the same time:p
