Pies would need to cough up something they can't really afford to trade. There is no 1st rounder to give away this year, will need as many points as possible to trade in McGuane next year.
Can't see this one happening
GC won't need pick 12 and 20 and will use later picks to match Leo Lombard

Collingwood will trade Noble + 33 and a F1 for pick 12 and 20. 12, 20 and Richards gets us Houston.
It's a lot of currency but it's doable.
McGuane can be brought in with f2 and 2026 picks if needed.

Nothing to do with the trade, but have been told by ITK , he has been offered around 600k ( increase of 200k) and has just acquired property about 10 mins out from GC despite trade not being done yet.

Surely Pies would be better odd taking 12 and 20 in this scenario as there are key position players they desperately need. The cliff has arrived and they need young talent.

I like it. He will be getting 900k+ in Melbourne and he has requested a trade to Victoria. So a trade to GC incoming.

Yeah probably it depends if the Pies want to rebuild or go for 1 more shot at a premiership. My feeling is that McRae is always in premiership mode. He said last week he doesnt care about picks only players. I am just putting up ways of getting the trade done.

Atleast a contracted player finally do the right thing and say I just wanna go to this state.
I suspect he will settle on a preferred Melbourne club though who are in contention.

Houston would instantly be our second best player, and solve the dilemma of not knowing if ND should play half back or guts - we would have Daicos in midfield and his half back equivalent at half back. He would be an enormous boost to our side.

Collingwood went 12-2-9 this year with a fair injury list and all the veterans are playing on. They believe they have a good chance to contend again with the right players coming in. We can still match it with anyone.

Beat the premiers twice this year. But I see the premiership continuing to be fairly open for the next few years. This year there wasn't really a stand out team across the season. There is also about 8 teams in contention next year imo. The Pies certainly could be one of them...... or fall off a cliff.

Houston doesn’t want North

Carlton’s this year first + future second and third
Ports this years late second + late third

Deals done already

That’s a bloody terrible deal on Ports end. So all in all, Houston for 11? Yeah nah.

Saad was traded for Pick 8 and later swap deals in Gc favour. That will be the same deal in essence, it will be revolved around Pick 11 with later swap deals, this time in your favour.

That’s the market for half backs. Whether you like it or not that’s the market.

Houston could be North's missing piece that puts them in contention but I doubt he takes the risk. Good on him if he does though.
Can't see him selecting the Roos or Richmond for that matter.

Saad was uncontracted so why when Houston is a better player, contracted in his prime coming off 2 x AA seasons should we accept a lesser deal?

If the Blues only want to part with 1 first round pick, they better find a way to improve on 11. That alone won’t get it done.

Saad went for 8. Rioli will net the Tigers pick 6 likely. Houston is better than both of them and yet we should just accept a much poorer deal?

No shit he said all that.

He's not going to drop a bombshell trade request on nova just because they asked him a click bait question

Naive if you think otherwise
Yes your quite right jackag24, but it goes both ways, don't go over the top, or just say the usual, I'll leave it to my manager to sought things out and just concentrate on my footy. It'll all work itself out.

That's actually a reasonable suggestion.

Less than we'd like for Houston but that's usually how it goes

12 and 20 is a poor return on a contracted Houston. Hope if that’s the best the pies can find we tell them to comeback with a better offer or he stays.
If you are rejecting 12 + 20 for a HBF approaching 30 you are bonkers.

It's not even a debate for mine, offer me houston or 12 + 20 and im taking the picks before you get a chance to change your mind, about a 95% chance to come out infront.
