He wanted Demons first. I think you all forget that part. Blues aren’t the big name team they were 20 years ago.

Blues are a rebound at best.
North have gone up in the world.
He pulled out of the dee's deal because they are a mess.
But now North are a chance.
We are going places!
Dan rooston ftw!

If Houston decides to stay at Port then he know doubt wants to go to Carlton and will do so at the end of 2025. Otherwise he will come to North because North can better any offer that Carlton can offer Port..

He has a two year deal on the table from us.

No contract on the table according to this at this point. He’s worthless in any discussion regarding Houston.

“MELBOURNE is exploring a move for out-of-contract Carlton small forward Matt Owies.

The 27-year-old is yet to secure a deal at the Blues for 2025 and has been assessing his options in recent weeks.

Owies has also met with Brisbane, West Coast and Gold Coast and is set to find a new home this off-season.

The Demons will lose Alex Neal-Bullen to Adelaide when the trade period opens next Monday and could add a player who kicked 33.13 from 23 appearances in 2024, after kicking 27 goals last year.

The Lions have also been in the market for a small forward this year and could make a play for Owies after beating Sydney in Saturday’s Grand Final.

Carlton is understood to be open to offering the former basketballer a contract for next year at the end of the trade period, but are looking to secure Nick Haynes and Dan Houston by the deadline.”

Why should Port accept “fair value” while Richmond get overs for Rioli, when we paid overs for Soldo and when we paid overs for an ooc Esava after being rejected the year before?

We always pay overs. It’s time Port actually gets overs for once, and Houston is the exact player they should take a stand on.

Hang on, pretty sure you tapped up JHF and got him for unders!

Short memory.

Not Carlton's fault you're only good at Trading with North.

So Carlton being in the window and win now mode should not value the pick more than Houston?
Port are also trading one of their best players to a key rival. Shocking deal and if he is serious about just wanting to get home then Port should only deal with North. Weakens any hand Port have and improves a competitor.

Port can simple tell Dan he is staying for at least another year, where trading multiple future first will start.

His chances of ending up at Carlton are <1% Unless he is desperate enough to go to north he almost certainly stays as it stands.
Especially as apparently we want to take 2 first rounders to the draft

Port thought trading for Zerk-Thatcher and Esava was a great idea.

Their list management team a ****en cooked.

Houston can see the writing on the wall. Port are only headed down.
Younger list than Carlton and finished better then them too, yet here you are talking garbage 😂 yeah... Port are only heading down.. if that's you're logic then Carlton will finish wooden spooners 🙄

Both have similar top end talents but shit depth but Carlton has a much better spine than Port Power so Hinkley has actually overachieved with your list in the last 5 years with the assistance of H&A and Final series advantage in the consecutive pandemic years and easy draws despite finishing in the top 4.

Mate this would be like JHF requesting a trade to Port, and Port going "sure, we'll take you, but pick 8 is off the table".

Instead Port realised the opportunity that had been presented them, and threw in literally every pick they could to get the deal done. They even worked with WC and GWS to make sure North got a top 3 pick plus another first. I'd be very happy with Wardlaw plus Goad, that trade was a good outcome for everyone.

Go back to the bay if this is all you've got

Clearly North are gaslighting Port. C’mon people, amirite??? I mean the picks that are being bandied about for him has to be a laugh! I reckon Carlton have got it bang on! This mutt should be happy to be welcomed back to Melbourne in the first place, in fact Port should be covering half his bloody contract for interest rendered!

Haha. Coming from a Crom supporter this is gold. Suggest that you go and have a lie down. Not playing finals for so long is clearly caused some issues upstairs.
