These 3 young men really need to step up and play senior footy in the next few weeks.
We needs Dawes to be that goal square forward to put pressure on the opposition talls, take grabs, knock some blokes around, and kick 2-3 each match.
Nathan Brown and Tyson Goldsack. I have noticed so far this year we have only really pick 5 defenders for each match - Maxwell, Harry O, Toovs, Presti (or Reid), and Heater, we have used Tarkyn, L Brown, Sharrod and a few others as the 6th defender but I feel we really need both these blokes in the team. Nathan Brown can play up forward and down back but I feel we are wasting his development in the VFL, maybe take L Browns spot. Goldsack has that x factor about him, he creates well from the back, defends well and really sticks to the role given to him.

I just really see these 3 being a major factor in our push towards a flag. Can we fit them all in?? I hope so. But I would love to see our line up with these guys in.

Dawes should be in the side for Leigh Brown! Giving him a couple of games will see him provide the team with everything that Leigh Brown does, but also add an ability to Kick Straight and kick goals. Nathan Brown is a worry I think, seems to have gone backwards massively. I'm a big wrap for Goldsack, however he seems to be one of those players who never stands out at VFL level but steps up when he plays AFL, only to be unluckily dropped due to match ups etc

I think Goldsack is in our best 22, while NBrown seems to be struggling for form. I can't see Dawes making the team if he hasn't already. Malthouse must have something against him. Malthouse has his favourites, as well as the players he refuses to give a go. I'm convinced he would bring more to the team then the Anvil does.

Dawes has the frame, but his style isn't crash n bash like big Leroy.

That is one of the issues for Dawes that he does not crash packs. A man his size needs to use that to his advantage but he does not. Also the overhead marking is an issue but I think most supporters realise this.

I think there is upsides to bringing Dawes in even give him 4 to 5 weeks straight and see if he is up to it. I think those matches are now as after Hawks we have a few games against lower ranked teams.

Crash and bash is less important than getting the ball and doing something with it, namely putting it between the larger two of the four white upright thingies at the end of the ground. Dawes does that.

Crash and bash should not be expected of a player with fewer senior games to his CV than I have fingers and toes. Even so, Dawes is showing a lot more of that in the VFL week by week. His ceiling for improvement is so far ahead of a number of our "forwards" it's not funny.

L Brown is lucky to top 5 possessions per week.
J Fraser has 7 marks and 1 goal from 3 games.

Get Dawes in the side, before he signs for the GC17 or we all tear our hair out watching the side score 4 goals per game with no forward structure.

Spot on TRS - He Kicks Goals and that is Name of the Game

Absolutely agree with every word you've said.

Goldsack for mine has been played in wrong position. I reckon he would be perfect match-up for Hodge this week. Possibly most damaging Hawk.

Unfortunately Goldy won't have the match fitness or confidence to run with such a player atm.

Pretty sure Dawes in every game he has played at AFL level has better them stats TRS, and he creates goals with deft taps and quick hands.

Does Goldy still have that mystery virus everyone was saying was meningitis? That is the only acceptable reason on my mind why he isn't in our best 22.

We See That and Is Great at Setting Goals Up but MM does not see this - I Think

No, but his return from the virus is being carefully managed. Only playing a half at most currently. Meningitis does have a bit of a reputation for being a precursor to post-viral chronic fatigue syndrome.

Dawes and Moneybags should be in the side

These two kids are genuinely good players yet Mick persists with his favourites

Moneybags is easily in our best 22 though

Mick has always played his Favourites and don't play good upcoming kids:mad:

Moneybags is easily in our best 22 though

Based on what?

He played alright in the final against the Cats, but aside from that he was extremely disappointing last year and definitely not part of our best 22. Since then he has had an underwhelming start to the year (didn't do more in any of the praccys), contracted an illness and sat out multiple weeks, returned slowly to the VFL and in the time he has actually played has looked completely out of his depth and out of touch. If the weekends game was anything to go by, Goldsack isn't easily in the VFL team let alone the 22.

Ignoring all that though, yeah, it's probably just MM playing favourites... I mean, how could he only manage to play Goldsack 17 times in his debut year. Clearly should have played the whole 24, load of shit... Malthouse obviously hates him, more reason for him to be sacked really.

Haha, damn. That's an owning he won't live down.

Well he's before L. Brown and Toovey in the team put it that way. Hopefully he can shrug the illness and get back in. He won't be a depth player for ever
