The first 2 games of round 22 will determine which pick we end up with. If Dees and Saints get up we are still a chance of pick 2.
The way St Kilda look now, Carlton ain't going to win another game this year. Melbourne need to beat Sydney and that will be that..even then, if melbourne don't win another game they could still edge Carlton on % as Carlton have WCE Richmond and Geelong at Geelong to come - could get belted in each of these games

WCE is at the G so it won't be a belting, Richmond could be as they try to make up % as well and Geelong won't drop it at home and will win well.

And you would think Stevens will be back by then for the Saints.

How was the umpiring in the last 1/4 of the dees game..they almost single handedly walked west coast home - disgraceful free to darling give for holding the ball that was never there. Melbourne player inside his attacking 50 gets collared high..no free then the ump pays holding the ball against him when he was nearly knocked out by the WCE player..then free after free from the centre bounces..nah...seemed like a manufactured result this one by the men in white

There was a female umpiring, and I'm pretty sure they were in green.

Geelong will be clear on top and have the home final locked in. They will rest up a number of players and go through the motions.

Melbourne v Sydney will help one way or another

Sydney are effectively 2 wins clear of Carlton due to much better %. It is just Melbourne now that either need to win another game OR Carlton's % needs to drop below melbourne and that is around 100 points atm..lets wipe most of that out next week

We have to win first.

Doesn’t work like that though does it?

West coast, port, geelong didn’t beat them by much. They all beat us.

I think it was Peter J who said in the lead up to the suns game, that we would win easily because we have an appetite for flat track wins. That’s spot on. We always demolish the truly crap sides, where others may struggle. Those teams might get better results in other games though.

Put us against a side with some semblance of talent, playing with intensity/flair/momentum/emotion then we go to water. Like last night.

Our forward line are best in league for downhill skiing from a dominant midfield and turning a 7 goal win into a 12 goal smashing. Brilliant at that. Give them a 50:50 midfield result and they’re 5 goal liability to us. Our main guys are the problem, Tex, Betts, JJ and Lynch. No ability to win 50:50 contests and even less to provide any pressure when they don’t. Betts has in the past, but he’s pretty well done now.

I am very much glass half full when we play the lower ranked teams - we have good form (apart from North) in getting wins
You might be half full but your acting as if your glass is over flowing.

You’ve just given an example of us losing to a bottom team.

Carlton since Teague aren’t playing like a bottom team.

You might want to temper the confidence because you’re going to look silly if we lose which there’s a good chance we might.

I said the same thing yesterday on here... but i’m backtracking on it now because I’ve remembered that Geelong aren’t confident coming off a bye and they have that bye between the last round and finals so they will want to get a good last run into their players before a week off and hope their mid year bye performances don’t start haunting them in the first week of finals..

With the bye before the finals, it means they will not played for 2 weeks which isn't ideal, that's why the bye was introduced. You could also argue that the Carlton players will be going through the motion as well.
