Hopefully we're just trying to drive his price up a bit. Not sure how another bloke demanding the ball inside forward 50 is going to help us.

The forward line is the least of our problems. Why waste $600k on Betts when we could possibly get Daisy for a similar amount while helping us fix our one glaring hole
Problem with McInnes is he kind of kept growing after we drafted him and now he is this ****ing awkward height/size where he is too small to be a ruckman but too slow to be a leading FF. He needs to develop a contested marking game which he doesnt have atm to make it.
Personally I think he wont make it. He doesnt have the required athleticism.
What choice do we have?
How do we replace Kerr and most importantly his huge salary without a free agent signing?

Betts? No ****ing way, not worth half of what he wants.
If we get Yeo we can shop around Smith but we may be better of keeping him and hope for a better season next year like brown had because he would be worth nothing this year. But we need to delist at least 2 more so we can use our picks this year. So stupid putting the rookies on the senior list, waste of picks. And are the rookies better than some on our list? or can we delist them of the senior list now they have been elevated?
I wonder if this has something to do with upgrading our 3 rookies?

Kerr - 500k+ (probably 600k, wont matter for him, retire from injury and you get it paid out of the cap by insurance/AFLPA/Eagles)
Embley - 250k
Adam Selwood - 250k
Cale Morton - 300k+ (was on a big backended deal)
Mark Nicoski - 200k
Ashton Hams - 250k (got a huge deal to sign on for one year only)
Brad Dick - 150k (around the min)
Glass and Cox also came off the end of big contracts and would have been given pay cuts too. Its about 2 million freed up. McGovern, Tunbridge and Bennell would not have been given big contracts at all. We havnt had any major re signings this year to take that cap space up either. Mitch Brown. Masten are the only two players I can think of who would have been given a pay rise and it wouldnt have been like 300k+ pay rises for them either.

We just dont want to use pick 80 in the draft to give a player 2 year deals.
Bennell + Tunbridge are on there current deal lengths so they have 1 year deals atm. McGovern = no idea what he got but id say he got 1 year. Sinclair was the only player to get a 2 year deal from our rookies and thats because he is staying on the rookie list
It's probably in our best interests not to drive up his price tho, considering it will increase the chances of Carlton getting first round 1 compo.

no he isn't worth that kind of money. But I would like some pace and he is all that is available at the moment. So do we hope someone falls out of the sky? Do we steal one of the Dockers smalls? Wait another year for yarran? We have tried for years to get a super fast small but failed terribly.

Awesome, well it's good to see Vozzo and the other morons are not panicking. Seriously if we are chasing Betts at the price he wants then we are just plain desperate to grab someone. Anyone!!!!!
Eddie is a good player but he is no where near the top of the list for players wanted or needed.
Oh and i read somewhere last night that we approached Hawthorn at the start of last week regarding Clarkson.

If I was cartlon I would love the prospect of getting another first rounder at the expense of betts. No doubt he is good for them, but they have more pressing needs.
FA will see clubs manipulate this flawed system.
