Ok enough of the back slapping and self aggrandizing, realistically none of today's picks will play play serious game time in 2014 and once again I call for the heads of our recruiters. To quote Cartman "we're screwed !!!!" more years of promising little and achieving nothing.

Looking at all the WA boys playing for non WA teams is sickening and something has to be done so our player drain is diminished because not having players like Hogan, Martin, Omeara, Swallow boys and all the rest is seriously pissing me off !!!!

Good luck for 2014 because we are going to need all we can get.

Posters who continue to post nothing but negativity and who don't even give draftees the benefit of a doubt that may actually succeed in their chosen career is disappointing.

Sure not all of them will succeed but some will, that's why club have 42 players on their lists and turn over 6>8 every year.

Yeo looks like a very good player who we have attracted back. Wellingham is a solid B+ utility who we've attracted back.

There will be others but to land them you have to give something up. And please do not bring up the PSD option, its a 'go to line' people without much of a clue prattle on about.

Thoughts on the Collingwood trade now?
Essentially it has come down to who you would prefer out of:
Sheed + Yeo + Karpany
vs
Aish + Taylor/Dumont

Scharenberg / Aish + Taylor/Drumont

Scharenberg + Taylor would be my choice with 6 + 28.

I think Yeo or Karpany are as good as Taylor, Yeo better because we have seen what he can do at this level already.

So its Scharenberg v Sheed + Yeo?

Scharenberg with foot fracture issues at 18 poses some risks.

Atm waterman is tipped to be a top ten. 6 would be very close to where he would be predicted to go atm but obviously the draft is a long way away.
If we finished 13 again i think we would be a good chance to get him with our second pick.

So I do not support some of the terms you are defending the use of. In fact if you were more intelligent you wouldn't need to use them.

The father-son bidding occurs before any trades, so we couldn't have swapped with the Pies beforehand.

There was talk Brisbane were going to bid with pick 7, so North may have had to use their first rounder even if we didn't bid.

It's a matter of context. We all know what rape means in a literal sense, but we're not talking about a literal sense, but rather, a figure of speech. Tess, despite what you may think I'm not on a personal campaign - we as mods were asked by Chief and co some time ago to clamp down on the term. My personal thoughts are largely irrelevant, but I'd point out I haven't given a single card for it, or really even mentioned it for months.

Your memory of my clamping down on "bent over" is better than mine, but I would suggest it would've been all about context.

Hopefully we are not forced to use pick 6 on Newman. All it would take is a club or 2 to interview him a couple of times and it might force our hand. It would be a real shame to lose him due to trying to be too smart.

Throwing around such serious words lightly is a mark of ignorance in my book too. You might think people should just "have thick skin", but anyone who has actually gone through it (or knows someone who has) certainly has a right to be offended. And you might think you have thick skin but the reality is that everyone is capable of being offended, it's just that no one here has happened to press that button for you, or maybe you've just lived a charmed lucky life.

And to throw the term censorship around is a terrible hypocrisy given that you're talking about an act which is in many ways one of the most terrifying forms of oppression. Don't you realize that by insisting you have the right to offend people, that you're just creating a censorship of your own?

Back on topic, was it confirmed it Blayne Wilson got a new deal? JTG had him as out of contract this year so as an out of left field move could we delist him (dick move to do it this late) and then potentially use a pick in the pre-season draft?
