Could Bootsma grow a cm or 2? If he could get too 192-193 he would be a decent size.
Grab a ruler and have a look at what 1-2cm looks like. Seriously.

http://www.sen.com.au/display-article-2013/Tuesday-trade-update/62153Josh Bootsma’s manager told 1116 SEN that the 20-year old has nominated West Coast as his preferred club.
“West Coast are really keen to try and get him home. So we’ve then nominated West Coast as the club of choice, given he’s under contract we’ve got that choice in terms of the trading partner. The opportunity of potentially getting home is one that Josh will look at,” Jason Dover from Stride Sports said on Tuesday morning.
Dover said if neither club could agree on a deal then the lanky defender would be happy to stay at Carlton.
“I reckon this is a 50-50 one, because a deal has to be done and Carlton have to get value as they see fit for Josh. whether West Coast have got the assets that they can give up that are going to please Carlton is probably the big question. I know the two clubs started talking yesterday,” he said.
The 191cm Western Australian played nine games in 2013 after being taken by the Blues with pick 22 in the 2011 national draft.
Dover said Bootsma was surprised to find out he was on the trade table given he had agreed to a contract extension until the end 2015 in August this year.
“It came up with us probably a couple of weeks that in his exit interview Mick might have mentioned to him that he could be a trade option for Carlton.
“It probably surprised us given that we’d only agreed on a contract extension a couple of months earlier and the kid was really keen to stay with Carlton because he’d made a commitment there.

I was just thinking that. Is a few cm's really going to make any difference at all?? Shit grow a mowhawk and add a few cm problem solved! Surley we can't say because he is 191cm that he is shot, no chance, but if he was 193, throw the money bags at him, sign him up! All that aside, I do not want either way.
Yeah true i really did not think that through...Either way i thought he had a decent amount of talent it was just that he was so skinny.
That's what his manager said. What else do you expect him to say?
"My client isn't that great. West Coast have shown a passing interest in him. Carlton aren't fussed if they keep him or not. I'm going to try and milk him for all he's worth as I can't see him lasting more than a few more seasons".
I'm not particularly concerned at the slow movement by West Coast this draft and trade period. What is concerning are the players of limited talent and ability West Coast is being linked to in the media. Personally, I hope the club is working in the shadows rather than leaking like a siv to the media.Wow. I am shocked. Why would we want Bootsma unless Rosa or someone wants to leave and has nominated the Blues?
Then again the club did put this on the website yesterday.

Thought it was amusing considering how most of us feel about our trading in recent years that they put up an article that highlights it in full.
Ha Ha i almost feel as if i am being trolled by my own club.
If there was no real interest from West Coast that "he has attracted some interest from clubs but as he is contracted to Carlton he will be staying there and proving his worth"

I have no doubt they've shown some interested, but I think it's a bit of a stretch to say they're "really keen" to get him home.
Or just not say anything at all. Why put pressure on the kid when he has a 2yr contract and has only "passing" interest from WC as you put it
He was a baby lizard-A hatchlingSo Boots is from WA?
Can anyone tell me what he was like as a junior? Cheers.

Wait and see what comes out in the wash, but our record of rummaging through fringe players at other clubs is emblematic of a team which has no confidence in its own recruiting and development programs.
Better to draft a genuine midfield prospect and sink several years into them than trade for a fringe half back flanker. Of course that midfield prospect might not come off, but at least it would show some evidence that the club has a plan to strengthen its weaknesses.
Not a bad boot on him though.
Hopefully another preseason will get the Demon out of himEveryone has their bad days. I'd rather judge him based on the game vs. Sydney where he racked up 16 touches and 2 goals in a half of footy. We haven't even seen him play a full game for us yet.
