And you forgot the third group, that I call the forgotten group, the ones sitting on the fence crossing there fingers hoping it all just magically works out either way.
That's me! I can see both sides of the argument, however I must admit I was more comfortable with it when the rumour was pick 10, not 11. I don't see the point in giving Collingwood two picks before us and if they want 6 bad enough, surely we can get 10?

I want them to work out something clever at the trade table for a change, but somehow have a bad feeling about this.

so you're banking on a player whom the eagles deem a top 6 prospect to fall to 11? very risky.

you will also nullify the possibility of a top 1,2,3,4,5 player slipping to 6.

getting a top 30 pick is not hard. we got one with hampson lol.

also, helping out the pies does not impress me much.

The Eagles would have one or two players they would have targeted with pick 6, pick 8 has been used by North's on a father son pick, pick 6 and 10 with the Pies won't be used on who we want, that would have been the clear understanding. That leaves Lions with 7 and Melbourne with 9. Melbourne have already picked up two mids already, have plenty of KP forwards but need KP backs. Lions need everything.:D

Lions will be very cautious who they choose given all the home sick players departing so that leaves Melbourne.

It's a risk yes but I would not say "very risky". Eagles will get Sheed or their other preferred player they would have got with 6 anyway.

We will just have to wait and see won't we.;)

P.S. I don't care for helping the Pies but if we get an extra top 30 player that's good trading / drafting..............as long as you don't blow it on a Bootsma, Swift or Notte.

I hate the idea of giving up pick 6, but if we end up with Sheed, Cripps and Yeo at the end of it then I think we would have done alright.

It's not really a 5 pick downgrade for a second pick upgrade. it's essentially a 5 pick downgrade that nets us yeo and gives us pick 28 instead of pick 44 as our second pick.

No brainer.

This doesn't really hold as Yeo is not worth what he was worth he was worth what we had to trade for him. We were always going to get more value than we gave up. So whilst pick 6 + 44 for Yeo +11 looks okay we could have done a lot better.

1. never trust the filth.
2. is that not draft tampering? "hey collingwood, promise not to pick these players and we'll slip you pick 6". hmm.

I know you have been trying really hard to get me to bite but you are my favorite poster on this board. I've read every one of your 35,000 posts and I love your work.
Dickhead!!!!

35,000 posts? i thought you were exaggerating so i checked, and you are right. f*cking unbelievable.

oh and i haven't read an intelligent post from him yet.

I think the conversation would have been more like...who are you going to pick?

Oh so you don't want these players? Fantastic lets trade.

Basically the same thing - but walking the right side of the line.

If we sign Everitt I can see a trade of Mitch Brown to the Saints for a 2nd rounder happen just after it.

We would not need Glass, MacKenzie, Schofield, Everitt and Brown even with Glass playing for only one more year.

If we improve our draft position and land another top 30 pick by trading in Everitt and Brown out I'd be happy with that.:thumbsu:

I have got no idea who Brisbane will pick up with their first pick but its a bit fanciful to say they wont pick up sheed because they will be worried he will go home at the first opportunity. If that's the case who is the highest rated queenslander in the draft as they would probably also have ruled out south Australians and Victorians too

I thought Everitt was pretty slight despite being key position height?

Don't think picking him up will change our need for Brown.

They have Rich and Moloney as inside mids. No other spot on the ground do they have two AFL standard players. Ideally they go for some outside speed of a forward.

Herald also saying that the deal is likely to be finalized tomorrow.
6 in exchange for 11 (Dasiy compensation which is bullshit) and 31. 31 to Lions for Yeo which will better Freos offer.
We also give up 44 to the Swans in a 3 way deal with White who is likely to go to the Pies.
Good news is that we will probably still get Sheed at 11 considering the lack of interest from other club. If this works out then this would be a fantastic trade period for us.
