We don't know that.Caved like a bitch.
For all the fanbois claiming that 28 for Yeo is a win cause he is worth more than 28 - you're missing the point. Yeo IS worth more than 28 (in my opinion) but we could have got him for 31. Would Brisbane really let him walk into the psd? No.
Reading in to this, we may be using 3 picks. So, what would we have preferred:General Manager Football Operations Craig Vozzo said it was pleasing to complete the trade ahead of tomorrow’s deadline.
“Recruiting Elliot through this trade period was our major focus,” Vozzo said. “Brisbane was keen on a second round draft pick, so we have swapped pick 28 to get that done.
“By bringing another party (Collingwood) into the negotiations early in the week we were able to retain a prominent position in the first three rounds of the draft and still bring a quality young player, who we believe has much to offer, onto our list.
“With Hawthorn premiership player Xavier Ellis joining our club as a free agent we are delighted with the way things have transpired over the last three weeks.”
The sad thing - is that I actually don't think so. I know the 3-4 guys involved in these decisions and whilst I understand the trade with Collingwood, I cannot for the life of me understand why WC used #28 when #31 was available. Compare that to Docherty (same age as Yeo and basically same no of games - pick 11 traded for pick 33. Yeo is one of the few players who actually gets an upgrade on his draft position. Jed Lamb should get traded for a pick in the 40-50's and this kid (like Yeo) can play.
Scratched my head when Staker and Dalziel were swapped - and this one is equally bewildering.
Everitt just nominated us as to where he wants to go, twitter source rumour. The tall bloke from Sydney ?
Reading in to this, we may be using 3 picks. So, what would we have preferred:
6, 44 and 62
OR
11, 31 and 49
The downgrade looks much better then....
5 picks down in the first, for:
- 13 picks up from early 3rd round to middle 2nd round
- 13 picks up from early 4th round to middle 3rd round
Everitt just nominated us as to where he wants to go, twitter source rumour.
We don't know that.
yep, people having a sook should watch this to make them feel better. what 3 pick downgrade in the second round?http://www.westcoasteagles.com.au/video/2013-10-24/yeo-2013-highlights
This highlights clip just makes me so excited.
Docherty sets a pretty good precedent. We don't know that.
just got a bloody good player hey, just saw his highlights, its taken a while but I can see the sense in the trade and come draft day I think we all will be pretty happy.Whinge whinge ****in whinge. Are all of your periods syncing up again?

Provided we get Sheed, then there is nothing but positives from this trade window. I rate Yeo very highly, he has the potential to be one of the better trades in club history purely because of his age and his potential.
The difference between pick 28 and 31 is completely negligible, and I'm not buying it from anyone who says otherwise.
I understand that people want us to be pricks at the trade table, but the truth of the matter is that we will probably still get exactly what we want. And that's all that matters. Some of you really need to wind it in.
