I'm betting an in principle deal was established with Brisbane to trade Yeo for 28 assuming other conditions were met, one of those being West Coast's ability to obtain a 2nd round draft pick. As such, pick 31 was irrelevant to the deal. That's one potential dealing that I think is quite likely. .

So why did it take so long for the deal to go through? We got pick 31 days ago. Brisbane wanting to announce everything at once in the hope it hurt less (a.k.a the bandaid theory?)

The way WC are going they'll trade 11 and 31 for 22.

I take it you didn't end up happy with how things have panned out Bond?

I'm happy we got Yeo and the 3 pick upgrade we gave up for him is interesting, maybe so they pass on Sheed? This doesn't seem right to me so I'd be interested in your thoughts.

Also who do you think we will hope to grab with pick 31 and what about the Everitt interest?

I very much doubt they would.

Don't get me wrong, our trade period (so far) hasn't spelt the end of the world. However just the little things we've done (or not done) are a touch annoying.

Getting 11 instead of 10.
Giving 28 instead of 31.
Not offering 11 for Bootsma.
Etc
Why do you rate Bootsma a swap for pick 11?
May take 3 years to develop physically but looks ok.
Thoughts Spartan please.

While I dont hate what we have done this draft period, fair to say I am worried about the people who are managing this stuff for us. I hope those at the club are keeping an eye on it, although I'm pretty sure Vozzo got promoted recently so I hope somebody knows what they are doing.

I'm moderately happy with the trade period. Upgrade 31 and I feel we're on a winner.

According to Gary Stocks, we wanted picks in the 1st 3 rounds of the draft. If we had given 28 for Yeo early on, we would have had 6 + yeo + 44.

Trading 6 for 11 + 31 means we could still have picks in the first 3 rounds + Yeo. Plus they only consider 11 a 4 spot downgrade and not 5 spots since North Melbourne have locked in number 8 for their father/son. So they must feel that Sheed or whoever they want would still be there at 11.

They may even have a gentlemans agreement with Collingwood and Brisbane to not pick Sheed before we do....

You've nailed it I reckon.

Some great stuff in his highlights - love the pace out of the back line and a pretty good mark in contests.

And he is a great age for us to see his best footy for the club

3 live picks means two delistings.

Re-rookie Newman and delist Morton/someone?

Is there really much chance of getting someone decent at 49?

From WA alone, Garlett, Hampson, Jansen? Jacob Green?

People have been mentioning Impey but he's a 30's type pick IMO.

The last one was a joke, I wouldn't give up 31 for Bootsma. :p

Although I would have taken the punt for a straight swap with someone like Smith.

Terry Wallace seems to think that Garlett will go top 20/25 so that makes me sad face :(

Not so sure about that given that some rumours have persisted. Still have doubts about him playing midfield at AFL level as well from what I have seen at the Swans this year.

I think he will go in the thirties or even a bit later

Highlights can be misleading, but he's got all the makings for sure.

Looks like he does 3-4 very good things a game, which is great.

Backs himself to run and carry as well as take the intercept mark, has a great kicked - is he a left or right footer?
I'd certainly trust the ball in his hands coming off half back.

Now how many of our current players can you say that about?

OK what player on our list that runs off half back would have a better 2013 high lights reel than Yeos????

Or Winger for that matter???
Has Rosa, Gaff , Dalziell or Smith done anything similar to what this kids done?

You all know the answer , in reality we have a handful of spuds that should be delisted.

Umm, have a look at the Eagles site today and look at Schofield's 2013 highlight reel...

Right footed.
