The biggest issue with giving up 20 and 22 is that our first pick in the draft would be 61 which would allow a bid on Cameron of 59.

We don't want to go using picks of 60 or later in the draft.

If bloody North posters weren't full of shit we'd have a 3rd pick in the early 20s by now.....

There is the set discount of 197 points (discount for pick 18). So pick 60 is worth 146 points, meaning it can completely match a bid from pick 46 onwards. http://www.afl.com.au/staticfile/AFL Tenant/AFL/Files/Father-son-bidding-system.pdf

Sam McClure reporting that the Hogan deal is in danger of falling over because Freo have made a "final offer" of pick 11 and a future second rounder, and Melbourne want something higher.

It'd be hilarious if Freo finally get a quality key forward to commit to the club, then botch up the deal by playing silly buggers. Absolutely hilarious.

Pick 11 for Hogan?

Surely not?

Garry Lyon too has said they wouldn't want to be too cute and I tend to agree. They're finally a chance of picking up not just Hogan but Lobb and Langdon as well. Pay what you need to in order to get players in the door who want to be there.

If their coach can come up with half a decent game plan they'll have a cushy enough fixture to rise up the ladder.

Freo thinks being a strong club means being a complete campaigner at the trade table.

20 and 22 to the Bulldogs for pick 7. They are wanting Rhylee west as a F/S. Assuming he goes ~pick 12, they'll need ~pick 19 for points.

7 goes to Geelong with 50 coming back (Values Kelly @ 11), or maybe Geelong's 2019 2nd (~32) coming back (Values Kelly @ 17).

I still think 20+22 for Kelly is overs. We'd be wanting 2019 2nd (~32) back. Values Kelly @ 14

Surely they keep 7 to use on Rozee, B King etc., and still get West when he’s bid on after 7.

Geeze there are some Freo nuffies calling into trade radio at the moment
Isnt there, your club has the chance to get one of the best forwards in the game but they are happy about their offer because they believe the club is finally standing for something.
They will be really disappointed if they think Lobb will carry their forward line.

Trade Radio saying Freo refusing to budge on 11 plus a future 2nd for Hogan. I know we're into Kelly but could we possibly use our 2 picks in the 20's and a future first to trump that deal and get Hogan and instead get Kelly next year?

Probably lol. Just to hear the howls from Freo.

Recruit him to play on a wing.

I thought they’d done well by trading down to 5 and 11 so Melbourne would shut up about 5 and 6. But if their offer is 11 + next year, that sounds a lot like they’re trying to keep Neale. Also, that’s well under the odds for Hogan.

Has worked out alright for them in the past 12 months. Weller was robbery and the pick swap with Port looks decent. But GC subscribe to the pay what you need to so players who want to be there can get there. And as a club facing player retention issues they copped overs.

Edit - but I get your point. Freo have achieved nothing on the field which seems to feed them posturing more off field to look relevant and successful.

Freo should chuck in Harley Bennell, a packet of fish n' chips, a 6 pack of boutique beers,
and a poster of Nat Fyfe the fashion model......
