100%. They would already be at the point of making 3 as it iscalling it now, no d4 in 5 years

23 March GE v HighestWho’s playing who in practice matches this pre season??
FWIW just add 2 teams to D1 (4 down) and split the rest of the division teams in half by location (2 Up). Back to the future.......
Or keep 10 in d2 and split d3/d4 on regional lines (9 each which means a bye)

I have never been a fan of regionalisation, can u imagine masala having to play GE or Hawthorn last yr?
Does anyone know if the numbers on the track at Ivanhoe have improved this year?100%. They would already be at the point of making 3 as it is

Ivanhoe have ok numbers and will comfortably field 2 teams. Unfortunately they haven't got under 19's up. They have also again lost some good players and others have not returned.Surely everyone has 35+ at most sessions this time of year.....surely

Having said that they have done the hardest pre season in some time and definitely won't be the worst in D2.
Wouldn’t be any different to what Latrobe had to go through last year

That was an outlyer, they werent training or playing at their home ground & lost alot of players. They would have still been competitive in a lower grade. The best thing about the vafa is how close the sides are & how quickly clubs can rebound. Having a SE/NW would make the ladders very seperate & early
So your saying that it was due to their lack of a traditional “home” that they weren’t competitive last year?

Yes that would have been part of the reason, as someone who has been involved in the vafa for a long time I have noticed that Uni sides can very easy go up or down as kids finish degrees, move off campus, get a bit of coin chucked at them from back home. Kids living at la trobe last yr simply didnt walk across the road to training & all home games were up the road at Parades 2nd ground. That certainly would have had an impact of recruitment & retension.
How ever you are completely missing the point of regionalisation v divisions argument
Really? That’s a bit scary.Any practice match results yesterday?
I heard Yarra Valley beat Prahran by 10+ goals.
Really? That’s a bit scary.
That is ominous form from YV and it seems that Nobs and YV will be right up there this year with maybe Whiefriars and GE. Hoes played St Marys Salesians and went down by 15 points in a decent game of footy for this time of year.
Louis Holmes looked lively for St Marys.Wamba, who were the better players at Ivanhoe? Had heard that Hoes were goal up at 3/4 time.
Hi BrainyTim. Hoes were 14 points up at 3/4 time and a few of their good players got on top.Wamba, who were the better players at Ivanhoe? Had heard that Hoes were goal up at 3/4 time.
