WF vs Yarra looks to be an early season top of the table belter. Is Yarra's home ground advantage strong enough to stop the friars? Or WF too good anyway?

It will be interesting, Friars won both games last year on normal sized grounds but couldn't beat them on their junior sized ground

Will find out on Saturday if they've learnt their lesson from last year but in the grand scheme of things it wont mean a lot unless the VAFA is going to play finals there, teams need to be able to win on proper grounds so the return match will be a better idea if YV have improved at all

anyone hear what happened at Powerhouse last Saturday, another controversy with umpire over ruling club goal umpire?

Just a few interesting 50m penalties in the closing stages!!!!..... emotions were high on all parts including the umps... no excuses though, if we still had 25m penalties we wouldn’t be having this discussion... but that’s in the past

Good effort by Dave to get the boys up against one of his old clubs

Drifting for flathead and got one very quickly. Jon must have grieved you badly. I guess all other coaches accept umpires decisions except Jon that's fantastic odds.

I’m sure most who have been around the vafa for a few years would have had an incident or 2 with the great man, to his credit he never backs down.
Brainy Tim would agree with that, especially after the incident just before half time at the GE v Hawthorn final out at white friars last year... pretty sure brainy Tim changed his shirt after the incident to try and hide his identity... was funny to watch

Perfect day for footy at Packer. Ivanhoe had a very young team and will be a threat as they develop. GE were put under the pump by some of the hoes quicks but managed to get the chocolates. Reserves had a huge win holding hoes goalless. U19s and girls also had good wins unfortunately the thirds faltered. Great to see Ivanhoe stay for a drink after the game.

How did super Mario and the great man get on yesterday?

Well, apart from the first quarter WF seemed to be all over Yarra, anyone go and watch?

Very early still and a long way to go but seems a 1 horse race, Friars to lose this year.
