Bigger Older Slower the new club motto>?

Ha ha - you're hilarious Mitch. The House are younger than they were in 2009. I suppose we'll just have to see what happens on the paddock.

The Power House rumour file is just that - rumours. Some may be right. Some may be wrong. Wait and see

My mail is Rombotis has a deal to play only home matches and due to work commitments wont be showing up to those games til just before kick off

i heard a rumour the other day that Pike has left Powerhouse after being in a fight with one of the players. is any one able to confirm this?

for Pike to play he would have to be cleared by VAFA first wouldn't he? Keep an eye out for transfers on the website. Brisbane Lions -> Powerhouse should stand out I reckon.

Also would mean as a player-coach VAFA would impose a limit on how much he could be paid. It's a measly limit too. Either he'd be forgoing his salary or Powerhouse would have to hope the amnesty got extended to 2011 ;)

Heard Prahran Assumption beat Assumption 1st Xv111 today!

Of course they would. As talented as Assumption 1st XVIII would be, I think all D3 sides would beat them. Body size and experience count for a lot in football. Assumption 2nd XVIII however would towel up some reserve sides.

i would beg to differ. i played for assumption 1st 18 when we played ivanhoe assumption many years ago and were able to defeat them quite well. I think Prahran Assumption may have a fair few good recruits

Agrre with Theflyer.

Assumption have fielded some teams capable of outstanding football for that age.

From memory, they beat us easily twice, once by a goal at kilmore's ground when we had a good side and they went through the year undefeated and we beat them comforatbly once.

It depends on the quality of the side Asssumption has of course, but I'd say that is a good sign for Prahran.

I agree the Assumption team will be good, especially in underage football. However, over a season, I'd have them pretty short for the wooden spoon in D3.

Also agree they will fluctuate in standard more wildly and quickly than senior clubs, but really, they are essentially a non elite U18 side?

Just got home from our first practice match for the year. We played Laverton Magpies at the glorious Whitten Oval. What a magnificent ground to get dumped on. Keenly contested even game. Biggest improver ----- The Puff Machine?

Could anyone tell me how much their club membership is this year? [$200 AT UHSVU].

Was a great game under trying lighting conditions :)

We had a great game and you guys had a lot of pace, some good targets and a good side all round. Thanks for the game and best wishes for the 2011 season. FYI our stats said you guys won 7.11 to 5.1 for the senior game and we won the reserves by 4 points. Cheers.

Why don't you have a crack 1st hot water to get the ball rolling

would love to have a crack but pretty new to the league and wanted to get a few opinions of what others think.
don't know enough about most teams so my opinions would be a guess.
just trying to drum up some decent footy talk.

league B&F - Glen Francis Ivanhoe. came home with a wet sail in 2010 and with a full pre-season behind him he will be very good. He is a big strong boy.

To kick things off:

I'll have a go at a ladder

Prahran: with Assumption equals very good team
Powerhouse: if they keep what they got and add a couple, they will be hard to beat
Hawthorn: appeared to have picked up players from higher grades, should improve
Elsternwick: hard to position, looked to have picked up a few good players, but they can't afford to have lost any, somewhere between 4 - 6
UHS-VU: Who knows what students they can pluck, they could be anything 5-9
Yarra Valley: young team, just missed out on finals last year, good depth, should figure in finals this year, somewhere between 5-7
Albert Park: have an aging but good list, need to keep everyone from last year, depth was poor last year. Somewhere between 6 - 8
Monash took D4 by storm last year and must be respected. Somewhere between 6 - 9
Ivanhoe: my disappointing team from 2010, I thought they be red hot but were too up and down. Will cause teams trouble if they can all stay fit.
West Brunswick: A club with a lot a pride that can win tough games to avoid relegation. Good but not good enough to make finals. Somewhere between 7 - 10
Mt Lilydale: there is always one promoted team that struggles the next year. Have a huge home ground advantage but I don't think it will be enough. Going back down
Kew: Struggled last year (lucky/unlucky to get promoted as the 3rd team from D4) Losing Greg Bell is huge, will need a massive change in player personal to avoid the drop.

This is just my opinion not based on any facts whatsoever. Take with a grain of salt.

I can only comment on Ivanhoe, but I think we will be more consistant and less reliant on individuals this year, and in turn finish higher up the ladder.

having said that I couldn't name 1 opposition player nor know who has come and gone at other clubs so haven't a clue.

just watch our for Glen Francis.
