Interesting call that Powerhouse will be the big sliders of 2012......considering they finished 10th last year.........is going from 10th to 11th or 12th considered a massive slide?

They'll do very well to slide from 10th and not get relegated!

hahahaha, yes but funnier things have happened, just ask Kew.
I would have thought when you finish out of relegation by percentage, only a hint of a slide would be needed.

Happy New year to all to participate in VAFA D3 for 2012.

Whispers is excited to be involved in this Section this year and watching new league of teams from the Gazebo of KB Reserve.

This is the time of year where practise games and planned and recruits are thrown hot air promises and smiles in exchange for a transfer form to be signed.

Looking forward to learning from the other scribes in D3 and beware of the Snakes in 2012... dont waste your time writing about them being in Relegation territory.

Happy new years whispers.

Whisper's gazebo has been renovated this offseason, perhaps you've noticed. KB also has two new penthouses (coaches boxes) for you to sleep in after a few too many cans.

Cheers!

Interesting to note that fellow pundits have the overwhelming numbers tipping Power(less)House to slip in to the cesspool of D4 at season's end.
Losing one ruckman (sad loss for voyeurs of leaping, heavily inked up men) who admittedly is a quality player and the doomsayers are predicting hard times for this group?
Still have Edwards who is light years above any of the hacks trotted out by most sides. Can he get the service though?:D
New Coaches (not sure why two coaches- must get lonely or like holding hands) will surely invigorate the club.;)
Believe Martin Pike has been called up as a last minute replacement for Kevin Federline on Excess Baggage, hence not coaching them this year.
Volunteered to consume on the leftovers on the set.
Rumour has it there is an accent on recruiting youth into the ranks
(local street kids)with six big recruits already added.

I'd say that the boys from Rathmines are getting written off moreso than your boys KDuth - Both them and the boys from the snake pit!!

Ogge will be a big loss for the Hawks, but the majority of the list from 2011 remain and there should be some quality roll through once clearances open up by all reports!!

May not be the easybeats that some think ;)

It's a fairly good effort to win the flag when you don't make the top 5

On a different note, are Yarra losing any to Park Orchards

Elsternwick are perrenial "also rans" with a handful of quality veteran players who have the football smarts to manage to get them over the line for a few wins. This has the been case for years.

How old are you to be considered a veteran?

The hoes have had very, very good numbers at training - very young. Lost a few old heads to retirement, so the question mark is not on talent, but more on experience and body size through middle part of winter - IMHO

Still a long way off as yet and hoping that we still see a couple more in the next week or so who have 'strongly suggested' they will play with us this year. The future looks bright for coming years anyway - with what we have already.

Premiers: Yarra Valley
2012 Top 5: Yarra Valley, Aquinas, Ivanhoe, SFX, Albert Park
Big Improvers: Kew
Big Sliders:Elsternwick
League Medal: Paul Harris - looking good.
Relegation:RC (for no real reason to be honest).

Go Hoes.

Chump.

What about the Duck?

D3 followers won't be suprised to hear Glen Francis is tearing up the track at Ivanhoe this year. He's in the best condition I've ever seen him, will dominate at this level.

Things looking rosey at Hoe park, the Dubstep dungeon will be in full swing by the first function and we have a Sweedish bloke training with us so I'm sure he'll pull all the birds.... Soooo many birds. YS in fact.

Personally I'm avoiding Wednesday training as the fitness regime involves running with stell bars up hills.... Old school.

2012 Premiers:Ivanhoe - on the back of Francis
2012 Top 5: Ivanhoe, Yarra, Aquinas, Hawks (the big improvers), wild card spot
Big Improvers: Hawks
Big Sliders:dunno
League Medal:Francis

Good to see the Elsternwick boys have snapped up a experienced coach in John Cesario. Cesario is Italian for 'Little Caesar' - Let's just hope that he is a bit of a general rather than a small salad missing a few croutons!

I've heard he has been joined by his brother Claude who will act as an assistant coach.

One of my spies managed to sneak down to Elsternwick Park last week and noted a few new faces around the club, he did mention that a few from last year weren't present and I can only hope for the 'Wickers' that this is due to a high number of Bar Mitzvah's taking place in the region!

Let's hope for the sake of the club they all get back on board and Little Caesar can get his croutons, eggs and bacon bits all working as one!:thumbsu:
