Do we need May and why, or not

We may run the risk of being forced to use our first rounder on Quaynor if we keep it so wouldn't it make sense to trade it first?

We aren't forced to do anything. It's means we have to make a choice. Who knows where Hine would have a cut off point to match bids for IQ and Kelly. I doubt he'd match a bid in the 1st round anyway.

I think he would for Quaynor so it would make sense to get rid of our first and try and trade in some late picks to have enough points available for the IQ and Kelly selections.

I thought gcs will get rid of may if he wont commit. If so i think we should sit back and wait to see what they can get for him, i dont think they will get a 1st round pick because hes just not that good.2nd round and maybe a fringe player at best.

But it's a deficiency now due to injury, not because we don't have options on the list. Acquiring May during the trade period won't alter that.
Neither Dunn nor Scharenberg are likely to play at all next year. Moore is injury prone. Reid is injury prone and old. What other options do we have?

What options did we have previously? We brought in an older bloke playing VFL from Melbourne who turned out fine before doing his knee this year. We also brought in a rookie defender playing in the VFL who has turned out to be a great forward. The point being we can always find a defender in the VFL and WA/SA state leagues. They don’t need to be superstars. They just need to do their job which is made easier with a defence that helps each other as we have seen this year.

So you'd prefer not to get a superstar?

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Dunn plays round 1 next year.

May, Quaynor and Kelly and a smokie from this trade/draft period would be above a pass grade you would think, as long as we retain Moore.
If it is true about Lynch going to the tigers, then keeping Darcy is a must, then add the others l would Agree.
If Dunn is back earlier then we can swing Darcy forward or even Dunn forward as he can also can play that role
